Is my idle too high?
M6 - It seems to sit right at 1000RPM. That seems too high. Every other car I have owned has been around 700 or less...
No mods yet - Normal?
Thanks
Brian

That is abnormally high. Programmed warm idle
RPM is 550. You may have cables adjusted too
tight, or the base stop screw is too far in? Don't
think the tach would be that far off. As far as
"no mods yet" - unless you've owned it from new,
don't believe her when she says she's a virgin.

Another '98 here that sits at 1000, and it is a real 1000, confirmed by computer. No vacuum leaks either.
The '98 has a different PCM than the 99-02s, so maybe they were designed that way.
Anyone have a '98 M6 that idles other than 1000 stock?
