Magazines are good for bathroom reading material. No mag can ever be as good as a forum such as this.

...that's awesome, yet somewhat disturbing.

The next time you tell someone to use the search button I'm going to have that thought in my head!

The stuff they do in these mags are done by people with alot of money to burn and the ability to do things to the ls1 some of use can't afford, or afford to screw up!

dont you mean that sponsors pay them to install there products? just like the recent HP TV that featured an ls1 with 1k bucks worth of mods and picked up 19hp

i personally like seeing people like Mike and Vince and others build up there combo's, see constant up dates with pics, specs, and info. see the trials and tribulations they go through in building such a setup, and finally the reward of a completed project.

you cant get that from a mag

Oh hold on now Tupac! The mag I was just reading did a dyno test on the 7 name brand air lids for the ls1 just to see if they truly all equal, now do you have the money or connections to run seven dynos on 7 DIFFERENT lids? Just too see if there was a little bit of difference.

No that is not always the case, do you work for or know anyone thats works for any of the mags that gave you that info?

Sure you can they do this kind of stuff in mags all the time.
i personally like seeing
Thats just it, thats your preference. I on the other hand like to get as much input from as many different sources as I can before I spend my money.

So do I. Thing about that is that I consider input from someone like colonel, jrp, unit, PSJ, etc etc as/more helpfull than an entire magazine. On LS1tech my stupid @ss has access to opinions/knowledge/experience of all kinds of very knowledgeable/experienced people and i can weigh different opinions if it's not a striaght up tech problem. I try and return the favor and help as many people as i can with what limited knowledge I have aquired through this board and my own search for power, maybe someday I will actually know enough about complicated things to be as much help as so many others on this board already are

and the conclusion to that high tech lid test was a lid is a lid is a lid. you dont need to read magazine to find that out. if they were smart and had the resources that you say they do why dont they do something worth while like a head shoot. get together AFR, TEA, AS, PP, MTI, ect heads, a tr224 cam, no dyno tricks and see which nets the most power. or do a long term vavle spring test with 918's, 921's, cranes, manleys, ect. but then again, that would be something usefull . magazines are non interactive. who cares about reading up on a setup a mag prints when you cant ask the person a question directly. and where do you think mags get the money to do there projects, from sponsors, if you havent noticed at least half of mags are advertisements. you dont bad mouth the source that pays bills . at least here theres somewhat more objectivity.
