Thumbs up cut-out's in

Wow. Was getting tired of the stock, wimpy, v6 sound and being strapped for cash I just ordered this last week from TSP. Came in today and got it installed this afternoon. Can't get enough of how it sounds! No drone at highway speed but it actually *sounds* like my car has a v8 under the hood now when accelerating. I had magnaflow cat-back on my black trans am and I'm just as pleased with this as I was that whole system.

$35 for the cut-out and $15 for the install, can't beat it. They should sell em for a few bucks cheaper yet without the plate to close it with cause I doubt mine will ever see any use

Going to the track friday to see if any gains will be had.

Personally I liked it. Nice idle to it. Can't expect a whole lot with just a change in cat-back, but with magnaflow's great price it was worth every penny.

On LS1sounds.com like the 9th line down in the maganflow section is a 22mb video of a guying doing all sorts of driving in a stock ls1 with magnaflow exhaust. That will give you an idea. It sounds exactly like mine sounded.

Sure if you put a cutout on open headers

He has stock exhaust from the manifolds back. The cutout WILL give him something. Of course it won't give as much as long tubes and a good catback/true duals/whatever, but it'll give him something

Now.... i'm confused on what you have... You say your car sounds like a v6 without the cut-outs, and then you say it sounds like a V8 with the cut-outs. Your sig says you have a WS6...
So which is it? do you have formula firebird with a V6 or a WS6 Trans Am with a V8?

Other than that cut-outs are

I have longtubess on my Hawk. The y-pipe slipped past the cat this weekend. I drove it around all night because it sounded so awesome. Finally sounded like a V8 and not a vacumn cleaner. I am now contemplating a cut out. Can anyone recommend a brand or place that I can get one. Sorry for the hijack.

Sorry all it didn't sound confusing when I read it back to myself! Yes I own a ws6, I said/ment I was tired of the wimpy v6ish sound it had, not the wimpy v6. The stock ws6 cat-back leaves much to be desired in the way of sound. Then once the cut-out was installed my exhaust tone finally matched the number of cylinders I had, "but it actually *sounds* like my car has a v8 under the hood now when accelerating."

Guess my thoughts just didn't translate well. It's all clear now I hope.

Cutouts rule!
I still have my stock cat-back for that 'innocent look'...
Zed style..with an MPP rules!

Wild to mild..and in between with the flip of a switch..
