Default newby lm7 build

hey guys new to the ls game but I picked up an lm7 and a 4l60e for 150 bucks. planning on putting it in my s10 which currently has a 355 sbc. planning on putting a cam in it and springs my question is should I keep the stock heads, get them machined ported and polished or swap them trying to do this in the cheap side any suggestions ?

If they are 862 or 706 send them to Texas Speed for their rework. They will do you a great job, get them to build a cam and spring combo for your swap. Good Luck..

They are the same just different casting methods, Some earlier 706's were prone to cracking...
