Don't feel that bad, a buddy of mine ran an 18.8 in his 2000 WS-6 his first run out at the track.
was this in reverse

Here's my 3 step plan:

1. Do yourself a favor and invest in some Nitto drag radials because you won't be able to launch aggressively without them.

2. Accept the fact that you need to beat the **** out of your car to get some good times.

3. If you're going fast, you'll constantly be finding the weakest link in the drivetrain/suspension(clutch, 10-bolt, TA, driveshaft, etc.). Once you make enough passes to break/upgrade all that stuff, you'll probably be a pretty good driver and you can focus on more HP mods to go even faster !
