^ Speaking of big 4x4's beating little 4bangers: In this months' issue of Motor Trend, they do a test review on 4 heavy Duty, extended cab, Diesel 4x4 trucks (in other words, can we say HEAVY???), which we all know aren't geared for acceleration, but to pull and haul stuff. Well, seeing the "stats" page, all 4 trucks did the 1/4 mile in less than 17 seconds (I think, I know atleast 3 out of 4 of them did) and a couple did it in less than 16.5 seconds.

Now how embarassing would it be to be in some ricemobile, thinking your hot ****, and get beat in the 1/4 by a STOCK Diesel 4x4 truck?? And yet these little homos act like they can hang with or beat cars that run over 3-4 seconds in the 1/4 quicker than them.

God I'd love to see that race happen.

My old beater at one point was a 92 Taures GL. I raced a civic SI with a fartcannon and probably an intake from a traffic light. I put it in super drive and raced him. I beat him in my white, rusting 92 Taurus GL.

If I was a ricer, I would rather lose to a 4x4 turbo desiel (he must have been spraying propane!! ) that a freakin taurus.

i like to stay beside them yanking the wheel back and forth and looking at them with quick glances like your giving it all its got, like your freakin speed racer. then give it more than 1/8th throttle and check out.

heres a funny story i just remembered after reading this

last summer at work, i was driving along when i pull up to a light in the work truck. i look over at this ford escort.....5-speed....the guy has his arms locked and ready to rock. the light turns green and we nail it... now my work truck is a 93 long bed chevy w/ a 350 that has had its guts ragged out for 10 YEARS. we blast off like a couple of snails but slower. we are dead even untill we get to 50 (seems like 5 minutes later) when he starts to pull me. now believe me this guy is slam-shifting it, as hard as it gets. he pulls his back bumper to my front and im defeated.... i've lost...it's over. i was laughing so hard i almost crashed. now heres the funny part.....i had an 800 POUND A/C CONDENSING UNIT IN THE BED. it was definatly the race of the century

last month on the way home from work(driven the ls1) i pull up behind 2 rice rockets at a light. well at the time i was stupid tired, listening to tunes loud enough to hear over my cutout,and in truth not really paying attention.. the light turns green and i go on driving like normal.... well i had the tops out and the windows down i started hearing what sounded like a race bbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....bbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr i snap out of my stuper and realise the race is happening right in front of me.... lmmfao... i was dam near chewing the guys bumper off infront of me and i didn't even know i was racing..hahahahahahaaaa.... i look down and we are at about 50-60ish still laughing i drop her in 3rd and get over to the far lane... when i hit the gas it looked like they hit a brick wall....dam near sucked there doors right off...i was laughing so hard i shifted into 6th....and contiued racing....in 6th...and still pulling... in 6th... hahahahaaaaaa
i need to mount a camera in the car... i could have put that on funniest videos....

This talon doesn't look all that bad. Might even been reasonably fast for a 4 banger.. not too over the top in body kits.. there is a girl in the pic if you are at work nothing nude or anything, just found the link while patrolling the servers i take care of

i saw this vid about a year ago of a vrx with a camera in a right lane, and a honda in the left on a 4 lane road with a 1 lane devider. the start racing and after about 30 seconds you hear a roar over the buzzing and an older <95 body style cobra convert goes roaring past them in the turning lane like the accidently threw it in reverse. the camera man in the crx is like "oh **** man look at that cobra" then the race is over, pricless.

I went out to Firebird Raceway last night in the Phoenix area. I really like talking to people about their cars while I'm waiting in the staging lanes. Talked to some nice Mustang guys (I know, don't shoot me!), one guy in an old 72 GMC long bed running in the 13's with a small block, a few Camaro guys, etc. But what amazed me is the import guys stay in their own little group. They won't even look at someone with a fast domestic car. Might be because they were not within 3 seconds of my time or maybe it's just they live in their own little world.

That same thing happens all the time at our track. some times i'll see them take a loose nitrous bottle with a hose on it and open it up spraying the cold gas into the radiator and intake area. I guess when your that slow every little trick helps, "alittle more tuning and this baby will break into the 15s"

At our track, we have idiot ricers who spend their time in the staging/waiting lanes trying to figure out what fuggin' angle to put their intake at. Hmmmm, should we leave it down in the regular position, or stick it up 90 degrees (like a truck snorkel) so it sucks in "cold" air".... ok, if their hood is off, the air's gonna be the same either way; the car's just gonna look even more retarded going down the track 1. with the hood off, and 2. with a ******* intake system sticking up level with their roof. God we have so many idiot ricers at our track it's embarassing. And they all rev their fart cannons together like they're tryin' to make music or something. I can't stand it anymore. The import scene is cool with me, but the ricers have got to die off already.

Here shows 60 FWD dsm's that do 12 or faster... so thats 430 dsm's just on that list that run 12 or faster ... you're margin of error is 98.8%... thus your whole post is invalid... sorry

you should really think before you speak, ive owned a 3rd gen f-body and a 1g talon turbo, and the talon beats the f-body in just about every aspect but exhaust sound....

For every 12 second DMS you'll find 1000 12 second Fbodies. There is no substitution for cubic inches!

I ran a 1974 911S in Solo 2 from 1984 until 1994. I was very competitive in A stock. There was a good friend of mine that I could never beat in a 1973 911E. He ran in a street prepared class and always was very quick (even Nationally). I bought a new 1994 Z28 6 speed and beat him for the first time ever. Only thing was I beat him by over 2 seconds, that's how much better the Fbody than my 911S.

Never underestimate an Fbody. The 4th gen is a great automobile no matter what import owners think.
