Power Window Motor Mayhem..

Well, I've lost my 5th window motor in 3 years now. Needless to say I'm getting tired of changing it out. Was wondering if anyone out there has had as much of a problem with the stock motors as I have. Any suggestions for aftermarket motors that can handle the weight of the camaro windows?

Are you using the Autozone/Pepboys "lifetime" window motors? If so my suggestion would be to go back to the GM/AC Delco motor. Will you never have another problem? Can't say that you wont, but if you will grease all the tracks/slides and make sure your window trim is not letting more moisture down into the door than is usual you might get better results
Hope this helps.

My wife's '02 has 8700 miles on it. Passenger window motor gone already. WTF?
I'm going to forego the warranty and get some practice in (going with the Seimens motor from Autozone- I don't see the point in putting a rebuilt GM POS back in).

My driver's side motor went out at less than 10K miles. It was replaced under warrenty and works fine now at 18K miles. I took the car in for the passenger side window about 3-4 months ago and they cleaned the tracs. It worked fine for a week or so then it slowed down again. Last week it would get stuck going up, so I took it in today and they replaced a switch. The window is still slow, but it works for now. I'm sure Il'l be back in soon for it. Maybe they will actually replace the motor this time.

Hey man. I dont know what kind of fitment issues you'd have but you should look into 95-98 riviera window motors. They have big windows as well. Those were the fastest goddamn windows I've ever seen. WAAAY faster than the Z I just got. 104K miles on the one I had and they cruised up and down like a champ.
