It would be close if it was 4/10th's in the quarter, but you are talking 1/8 mile times. Your lead on your buddy's car will increase more over that remaining 1/8 mile.

Either keep it or go for a vette. Not really much sense in trying to sell it just to buy another f-body. Use that money to rebuild it into a monster! I love my 98 btw. No oil consumption or piston slap either like some of the newer models have.

I love my car, i got it with 99k on it and now it has 122k and still running strong. When i got it it just had an 80 series flowmaster on it, since then i've replaced the flow with a aerochamber, !AIR, !EGR, cutout, and a lid. With just the cut out and a lid it put 316rwhp/341rwtq through the A4, which i was told was strong for a 98, im very proud of my car and im just glad its an LS1! I had mine flashed with the 02 program because the AC compressor doesnt shut off intime at WOT with the 98 program, causing it to burn up. silverZ98, have you had any problems with your car with that many miles? i was thinking of rebuilding, but i really want to wait til summer 06, but if i have to i'll do it this year. so it still runs well, no major issues?

EDIT: Oh yea, i also like the idea of driving one of the first of the last LS1 f-bodies

This is the first I've heard of that when using a stock TC. I've heard of it happening with a higher stall TC, but not a stock one.

I'm guessing this is only an issue when the A/C is on, and the compressor clutch does not disengage in time at WOT?

I'm surprised that your car runs good with a stock '02 tune dumped in the PCM. Considering '02s have some different running parameters, like no EGR, different cam & intake, etc. Or did you start with a stock '02 tune, then have it customized?

Yea exactly like you said, its only when the AC is on the clutch doesnt disengage fast enough, they flashed it with the 02 then they tweeked it to work properly.

I am very satisfied with my 98. 350 rwhp &12.5 before intake. Weather conditions were shitty for both. And that was with 80k+ miles.

After having had an '00 and a '98, I can honestly say that there is no advantage in having an '00 over a '98 that isn't cancelled out by advantages of the '98 over the '00.

What's better about the '00 over the '98? Better flowing exhaust manifolds, bigger plastic gas tank.

What's better about the '98 over the '00? Bigger injectors, working temp gage.

Seems pretty equal to me.....

Now, there are a lot more differences between an '01/'02 and the '98, but IMO the '98 does still have some advantages over even the '01/'02 cars.....

well dammit ill chime in too

I heart my 98z28.

60k miles on her now. she's been very reliable as a daily driver and she gives me satisfaction with the week ened joy ride
I've had her for a year and a half now and finally, in 2 weeks i finally will get a chance to finish up my heads/cam full bolt ons combo and await to purchase a 12 bolt so i can beat the **** out of her like a white chick with a mullet on cops.

Its been unreal considering i came from teh mustang crowd. these cars are just simply ******* sick.

Im gonna go hug the hood of my car right quick
