Default Interior Noise

Are 2001 Camaros real noisey in the interior? Or the one I'm buying just abnormally noisey?

I test drove a 2001 Camaro, driving down the highway at 70mph, it was hard to hear anything.

Has this one maybe had some carpet/sound deadening removed?

Thanks!

They're all like that. It's not like you are buying a lexus.

Wow...Thought maybe they'd be a little quieter. I'd hate to see what a stripped one sounded like.

Thanks for the reply. I appreicate it.

Was it stock? Mine is loud, but I have LTs and a LM. It probably depends on what you are used to, but I would say f-bodies are louder inside than the average car.

This thing just had a lot of road noise. No exhuast mods, stock in that regard.

Ever ride in a really cheap car like a corolla? The economy cars are the worst when it comes to road noise. I like hearing the exhaust and motor so no complaints hear.

my car is a tad loud, but is a huge improvement over my last F-body. with the radio on at a normal level you couldn't hear it over the rear end screaming bloody murder with the extra road noise on top of that. when i test drove my 01 i thought it sounded quite nice, even thought our cars are far from the quietness of a luxury vehicle

Our cars have a lot of tire noise, especially on certain types of pavement.

All of these cars are going to rattle and make noise. It just depends on what you are use to. If you put subframes on you are going to hear more noises because the car is going to be stiffer.

Your logic eludes me. The stiffer the car, the less things move around. A squeek or rattle is something moving against something else..... Less movement in the body, less squeeks and rattles.

i wouldn't worry about noise...when you get exhaust you won't be able to hear it anyways

There's a lot that can contribute to interior noise. As someone said, tires, depending on brand and width. Also, if you have a M6 with any type of short stick or aftermarket shifter, you get more tranny noise. Obviously exhaust will be a factor as well.

Personally I got sick of it. I put back on a stock exhaust, removed the short stick, and it's a very nice ride now. Very quiet inside. I'm getting old, and this car is my daily driver.

deaden it!

i went to the extreme since i'm putting in a rather large stereo, but it dropped the interior noise down a LOT.
