Default Transmission Cooler

Well, I've searched and searched and it seems I can't find a definate answer on this. Where is the best place to mount the transmission cooler? On the radiator itself or in a remote place? Pics would be nice.

Also, where the hell did you guys mount the temp gauge? I bought a B&M gauge...but I have no idea where I can mount it.

Thanks.

Try a search for the dope tranny cooler install. I did one, but i don't have time to sift through all the threads about it.... just type "dope AND tranny AND cooler" in the search box but without the quotation marks.

I've searched and found that some guys put them in remote places and some mount them on the radiator. I was just wondering the best way..? And just wanted to get an idea on the temp gauge mount.

I guess I'll try to search for the "dope" one....w/e that means.

Thanks.

Mount it in front of the radiator unless you really want or your planning on a FTRA to be fitted down in there. I went with the free mod for my ram cold air or induction whatever you wanna call it. Just cut that plastic shroud up. Good Luck

I had my trans cooler installed by a local shop and it is in the fron of the car front of radiator. However, I cannot tell you that is the Best place but it works fine.

As to the temp guage you can get a pillar for guage pods and mount it that way. Myself I installed the guage in my center vent above the radio.

Hope that helps a little.

I put my gauge in the center console, in that cubbie hole next to the cig lighter. there are several threads that posted pics and part #s for the GM plate that snaps into that spot.

heres one about the cooler
