Looking at a Firehawk. Advice
Well i got a 99 TA right now with bolt ons. I love the car but something about a Firehawk i like. Well happens one of the dealers down here just got in a 2002 Pontiac Firehawk Transam i guess is how u would say it. Its only got 20,000 miles on it. Its Red with the yellow Firehawk on the door. Its Auto and has all the options, ram air, leather, t-tops ect. Car is in awesome shape. No dings or scratches on the outside from what i could tell. Interior is clean clean clean...... There askin around 22K for the car is what one of the guys said. I checked the value on one and it was around 25K so its below. But anyhow guys think its a pretty good price on one. Ill also be trading my Transam in for it. Let me know some input and if there pretty good cars for that year. Thanks!!

IF you get It's definitley a rare car (model). I think thats a good price considering that they was asking an arm and a leg for them in 02. Hopefully you don't take to hard of a hit when you trade in you 99 TA.

All SLP option firehawks and SSs have a SLP sticker on both doors acctually, not just one, the driver sticker would say something like "this car has been modified by SLP engineering" and so on, the passenger door would tell u what mods it came with from SLP.

If you don't see a sticker from SLP, either the car was in an accident and the door was replaced, or it's not a real firehawk. On my firehawk, the SLP sticker is on the passenger side door, but I think I've seen some on the driver's door. Like someone else said, you can also call SLP and have them run the VIN. (But I'd do that if I couldn't find a sticker from SLP on the door jams.)

Lack of a SLP sticker means nothing.
RPO codes signifying Firehawk changed through the years:
1991-1992 was B4U
1993-1997 was R6V
I think 1998 was WU6 also. I cannot confirm it though.

Get the VIN and call SLP they will confirm on the phone. I just bought a 2000 Hawk with 25K miles for 19K. It is in awesome shape and I love it. Should be 2 SLP sticker on the drivers door and one on the paaenger side detailing all the SLP mods. That is what is on my 2000 model. and I di call SLP to verify it is the real deal.

My SS doesn't have an SLP sticker either. As long as it is from a dealer, you have nothing to worry about, because the dealer can be charged (If I'm not wrong) for false representation, if it's not a true firehawk and their claiming it is. (Like someone trading in a FRC with z06 stuff on it and the dealer selling it as a z06). Same type of thing, I think... correct me if I'm wrong, but there shouldnt be an issue about that sort of thing.

Have you posted on the FAOA boards? The market is soft right now, so these cars don't really carry a premium, unless you can locate one "new", and then is it really worth the premium. Basically, I'd be willing to pay $18 - 20K, but it is only worth what a person is willing to pay for it.
WE (FAOA) have a classified section "for sale" and you can get some ideas from those vehicles being tendered for sale.
Good luck!
