Default SLP lid AIR block off

i just got a basic tune from Speed Inc. today, and i had them remove the EGR/AIR codes, so now im ready to remove that stuff, but when i got home and started looking into it, the AIR pump has a hose going into the lid (i have an SLP lid if that makes any difference). now if i take that pump out ill have a hole in the side of my lid, is there any place to find a plug for that hole or am i just going to have to make my own

You can try the local Lowes/Home Depot/Ace Hardware. If you can't find it there look at the Help line of parts at your local autoparts store

I went to an auto parts store and used valve cover filler plugs. I have also seen firewall plugs (grommets) used.

Some guy on here asked the same thing once and some dude said SLP sells a plug. Never really looked it up on their website though.

I know that this is ghetto , but I cut about a good 7 inches off the stock hose, attached a sweet looking breather to the end, used a small worm clamp and covered up the SLP lid with a small piece of black electric tape. I couldn't find a plug, but I also didn't look!?!?! It looks cool!!! I'm gonna go and get a plug somewhere 2marrow, and I will let you know from where.

You could ask a car stereo shop if they have a gromet the size of the hole. If its any shop at all they should have one.

I can tell you exactly where to go. Go to your local Pep Boys or any auto parts store and go to their "help" section. There is this package of this push in button looking things. They are chrome.

This is the guy who I bought my lid from. See the black plug in the side of his filter? He had a chrome one in the SLP lid I bought from him. I didn't know where he got it, but I was at work (Pep Boys) and I saw a pack of them. I would snap pics of mine, but I don't have a camera anymore.

Does anyone know if this is true or not? I just got off the phone with Art from SLP and he didn't seem like he wanted to even try to look up the part #. I was also told I have to get the SS hood seals from GM when I know you can get them from SLP.

Don't bother with SLP, just go to an auto parts store and get a plug for it like ritz said.

I have to take pics of my exhaust in a little bit. I'll pop that plug out and take a picture so you know what you're looking for.

Here you go. Just go to a local parts store that sells Motormite aka "HELP" accessories. I suggest Pep Boys earlier because I used to work at one and I know they sold these plugs.

Ritz, where did you get a breater that size for your A.I.R. hose...I went to a local speed shop and the only one they had was about 3-4X that big...none of the smaller ones had an inlet that was big enough to fill the rubber AIR hose. So I have a huge breater on the hose and have to rest it on the ABS box(I think, whatever that metal box yours is by is called).

Actually as much as this pains me to say. When I worked at Pep Boys I strolled over to the Ricer Section (as we called it) and bought one of those small breather filters...you know the ones that come in red/blue/chrome, etc. I bought a chrome one and stuck it right in and used a hose clamp. No problems.

Pep Boys eh, thanks, not sure if there's one out here but maybe I can get something online.

BTW, very very nice detailing in the engine bay, looks great.

about a year ago I called slp and just asked for one, and sure enough, they put it in an envelope for free and I had it about 2 days later...pretty much my only good experience with SLP
