window tint
haven't been around the cops in my town, but my windows are 35%. Ohio legal limit is 50%.
Anything I can do if I get pulled over? Tips? Tricks? Anything would help, she looks so nice with dark windows, and i don't want to change them
As far as tips or tricks go.... GOOD LUCK!The cops carry a device which measures the % of light that passes through.Tough to beat.
I live in a small town so the cops are ****....VERY ****
if I have my windows rolled down, and they ask for me to roll them up...do I have to?
I'm hoping if I behave and they see that I'm no looking for trouble, i'll be ok

anybody heard of this? know if there is such a thing?
BTW: No cop will believe you. lol. He'll laugh, but that's about it. He's ruined your day, no reason to make him laugh and feel good. lol
The cops where I live are EXTREMELY EVIL
They will pull you over for anything. My uncle's gotten pulled over like, a day after getting an outta state car, with dark-tint windows; he's gotten pulled over the day after his plates expired; at stop lights they use their ESP and scan your car for any and all things that they can get you for. It's all up to where you live, man; chance it if you want to
or just take care of the tint before "they" tell you to
BTW: I'm curious how their Percent Light Transmittence device works... It's got to have a certain output light and a calibrated sensor...and works by placing the sensor on one side and light on other...but...I'm wondering if you can fool it by installing a light and a switch in the inside of your door, in contact with part of the window glass... Even if the cop notices the little trick and gets pissed cuz he cant take a reading, what can he do? he doesnt know the %transmittence, so he cant ticket you. I'm not sure how all of the above works ^^^ but if it gives anyone any ideas...

I have a doctors note, has to be sent to the Secretary of State Jesse White, here in IL cuz he heads the DMV and all that road crap. He must approve and it will be ok. I have Vitiligo, which is a skin condition where there is no pigmentation in some areas of the body, making it very sensitive and vulnerable to burns. My dad is also a ISP officer so I have someone to fall back on. Chances are I won't even do it, my doctor jsut wrote it cuz hes cool like that i guess
Window tint and stickers
The next question that arises is window tint and stickers on the window. The Ohio Director of Public Safety sets the standard for allowable tint for vehicles. No vehicle in Ohio may have tint in excess of 50% on the side or rear windows. No tint may be placed on the front windshield below the AS-1 line. This is on the top of the windshield and can be seen from the inside driver's seat. Additionally, no stickers or reflective material may be placed on any window. This includes any car club stickers or other decorative stickers that are on the market today. This is for the safety of police officers as well as drivers whose view might be obstructed by these materials in bad weather. Care should be used when shopping for tint. Often people ask for 50% tint on their windows, not realizing that most windows come with anywhere from 10-25% tint already from the factory. This would obviously put their vehicle outside the acceptable range and subject them to additional costs in fines and repairs. There are a variety of vehicles that are exempt from this section including limos and other such vehicles. Some people who have advanced sight problems also have an exemption, but this requires a sworn affidavit from a doctor, notarized, detailing the illness and the reason this person needs the special tint. The situations are rare and may be challenged by the police officer.

wow 10-25% tint is almost impossible to see in. They should say 75-90% since window tint is measured by the amount of light transmitted throught the window. Transparency. That is exactly what you need but it puts tons of liability on you and your doctor, so your doctor will have to be willing to do that
