Default 99 Ls1...150k miles...

How does milage affect these motors? I'm going to buy a 99 with 150k(mostly highway) and just wanted to know if theses engines start to fall apart after a certain milage.

It's all in how it was maintained. If you get a car that has complete and comprehensive records, you should be able to get lots more miles out of it. If you have a car that has been beat on and abused , probably won't be around a lot longer.

It's a one owner car, older driver...The car is pretty clean and it drives perfect...So I think he took care of it. The engine drives like it has 20k miles on it, and it looks like it has 20k under the hood...very clean.

I would think if something went out in the motor it would be in the block. I have seen fairly new blocks in the Sales for about $500.00. I think you should be safe to get the car if looks well maintained.

Ok...

I've driven the car, runs smooth and fast...No piston slap or knock. THe engine bay is very clean, so it looks like he's actually cleaned it...I think the guy took care of it.

What gear it in it ??? Mine has 116,000 & has a 2:73 I can be doing 80 MPH and only be at 2,150 RPM's. If the car had a 3:42 or 3:73 = alot more RPM's and more wear on the motor. How much is he asking for the car???

6k for the car...it's very clean...a steal.

I put it into 6th at 60mph, and it was doing 1100rpm.

It'll be a great car for going out to my house in michigan and such...My mustang had 4.10 gears...3k rpm at cruise speed on the highway. Combine that with a cooling system that would push coolant out when the engine is loaded too hard, and you have a shitty highway car..Gets 8mpg too.

****, you could do 4.10s in the manuals and still be like 1500 at 80 lol.... Gotta love 2 overdrive gears!
