Default Buying a z28. Vibration through shifter and clutch normal?

When I went to test drive z28 today I felt slight vibration that was coming through the clutch pedal and the shifter. Car itself was not vibrating or shaking, just the clutch pedal and the shifter... Is that normal for these cars? btw is was a 2000 z with only 37k mi on it.

Don't want to run into some problem right after buying a car.

Please help fast!!

thanks a lot

OP

I'm not sure what others are going to say but the more I talk to people many people find the fbody vibrates at different speeds. My 99 has a little vibration in the wheel, and petal, once I started modding it I couldn't feel it near as much. My car is a A4 however.

It's very slight, could be barely noticed. Do you guys think I should be worried about it?

It's pretty much the same vibration that you can feel through the shifter, just at the pedal.

You are going to feel a little vibration through the shifter, seeing as it is conntected directly to the tranny.. As far as teh pedal I would not really worry about it.. Al long as the clutch is engageing and disengageing.. Now if the pedal is actually moving then I would be a little hesitant...

all is well, don't worry. these cars have a million rattles, shakes, and vibrations which give them so much personality. or at least that's how I like to think of it. so do not be concerned.

The noise in the shifter is probably a worn driver side motor mount. The motor mounts in these cars need to be upgraded to a poly mount anyway because the stock rubber ones are just too soft and dont last long.

My shifter sounded like a whining or wirling sound especially when you put your hand on it and you could feel it with your hand real good. The shifter also moved side to side and up and down when you give the car gas or accelerated. All of that went away with the poly mounts.
