i usually get about 230 a tank with my 1002 stock ss. Thats with a combination of freeway and in traffic miles and racing. I think thas about 19 mpg which i think is okay since i drive pretty fast most the time. Your car is eating gas tho.

yeah mines eating it crazy too, and gas is gettin up to about 2.50 in my place, skeery... I was wondering could the O2's be the fault to it? also dose the gas brand that i put in affect it ailot? I;m thinking of swiching over to the V-Power gas from shell. the only mod that i know of (only owned it a few weeks) is the KnN air filter, and i recharged that already, other than that im stumped, thanks in advance!

If you just recharged your K&N filter, there's a good chance that some of the oil has covered the sensitive wires on the Mass Air Flow meter. I had this same problem(mine was descreened). I simply pulled my MAF off and sprayed it pretty good with some electrical contact cleaner that I bought from Advanced Auto Parts. I went from 11.5 mpg to 19.5 mpg. However, I also did wind up changing all 8 spark plugs, wires, fuel filer, and added some fuel injector cleaner. If you haven't done those already, I would change those too. They did the trick for me. I hope this helps...

forgot to add.... if your SES light is on for either of the 2 front oxygen sensors, that will also cause the car to run a rich condition. This, in turn, will also hurt mpg. So, make sure both front O2 sensors are good. If the SES light is not on, then don't worry about the O2s..

Well I may be a bit off on this but I have read alot of threads like these and it seems that the M6 guys tend to get MUCH worse gas mileage than the A4s is yours an M6 ? Either way thats pretty shitty mileage though

I'm pretty sure it's the other way around, M6 cars usually get much better mpg than A4's

I have a 2000 A4 Z28 Bone stock right down to the paper filter. I get 20-23mpg all around. I drive it like a small block should be driven. I was under the impression that increasing air in and air out would improve fuel economy. Is this not true?

Yeah i got a A4 with Denso spark plugs, KnN air filter and a flowmaster muffler at the back with stock tubing from the stock exaust manifolt into the stock cats and stock everything to the muffler, including the flat driver side tube ( it sucks i know) i have had no SES light that i didnt take care of, i had one, but that was cuss i forgot to plug back the little wire on the air lid (also stock but gutted) so i just pluged it in and reset the pcm by turing the ignition key to on then off for about 30 seconds 9 times, thanks for the great advice BTW LS1 Community, i dont think i loaded up on the KnN air filter oil but i could try what was said above, wha brand was it? (no advance here ) alriht thanks for the advice guys, i'll be back on the forums time to time

I'm the same 19mpg, about 270 miles a tank. Time for a tune up. Change pluge & wires, air filter, pcv. have the car Auto-tapped.
