Is my car a factory turd?

Is my car a factory turd?
I have a Stupid question, and I was not sure where to exactly put this so I am sorry if this is the wrong section
I am a fairly new LS1 owner, and I have never driven nor been a rider in another LS1 car. My car is a M6 with 27,000 miles with a borla catback, and whisper air lid.
My question is, when driving at 5-10 mph maybe even slower, just at a roll in first gear and stomping the pedal to the floor should my car be able to break the tires loose? I have read some comments of guys in the street racing section claiming their stock or near stock cars at about 10mph can break the tires loose. My car definately pulls hard but I am just worried she isnt putting out the power she should. I don't have the funds to get it dynoed, and I have no 1/4 mile track near me so I cant get a 1/4 mile time nor a dyno number so I turned to you experts on here. Is this normal? Is there any advice on a way to take my car out and find a way to see how she compares to everyone elses stock form cars? And yes my traction control is turned off when trying this. I just wanted to hear what you all think. Any information would be great.
Thanks everyone!!

i dont have an ls1 but i do know it depends a lot on the surface of the road you are on new pavement vs. worn pavement, concrete, etc just as a comparison my lt1 m6 doesn't have any problem breaking them lose completely on concrete and then for a ways once i hit second but on say pavement it hooks up pretty hard and once in a while will break them loose pretty good it also depends alot on air temp and road temp and what kind of tires you have so i wouldn't throw up a turd flag quite yet try to run someone with the same car/mods and maybe have them drive it or something if you have a friend or know someone with similar cars

i know what you mean........if you think it pulls hard, than thats all you need to know. There are so many factors that effect traction, so I wouldn't worry about it. Save up and get it to a dyno or track and then you'll know for sure. Sometimes my car loses traction easily in 1st, some times it hooks. I understand where you're coming from tho, there's nothing like low end torque and breaking those tires loose! don't drive yourself nuts thinking about it.

when my car was stock there were only certain times it would break loose. Don't assume its a turd...........just start modding the hell out of it. BTW your gonna be mad after modding about traction so enjoy it now!

I think your rollin too low in rpms, my car always hooked if i mashed it to the floor rollin that slow. now if you bring the rpms up a little youll see your more in your power range. By the way my car ran a 13.27 so it was no slouch. Tires and surfaces do have something to do with it but i believe your just hitting it down too low, i wouldnt worry about it. If wheel spin is what you want try revving it to about 3000-3500 rpms while rolling at 5mph and see what happens! you wont win any races though.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I am now not feeling so worried. I kindda figured it might have to do with not being in the power band, but I just remember that my 94 Z28 A4 with 3.23 gears would spin them at a 5 mph role, but that car seemed like a factory freek too.
And it is not that I want tire spin, it is just that I had tested my car out like this and the tires did not spin so I wanted to make sure it was normal, and this looks like that may be the case.
Thanks for the info, I can now sleep better at night

tire spin is bad, it reduces your destination time and wears out the tires
your cars not a factory turd, just because it doesnt break the tires loose, doesnt mean ti cant fly like a bat outta hell.

Myy 5.0 will break them loose from a SLOW roll only after it has had time to speed up to about 5K rpm (on pavement using 245/60/15 Cooper Cobra GT's) and leaves about 20' of rubber hitting 2nd. For the record, my LT1 left harder, spun less, but couldnt touch the 5.0 at the upper RPM's. Your car sounds fine to me, some LS1's have 245 and some have 275 series tires, you may have the 275's and just hook good, dont sweat it. Nice car btw.

mines a freak in a good way. i can spin the tires at almost 30 (its an auto). if i nail it just right and it drops into first. but my tires also suck so that could be a factor

I consider myself a noob as well. My mod list is kinda extensive though and my car LOVES upper rpms, 3500+ its a freak. As far as losing wind...no. IT hits 2nd gear, spins about 20', hooks, goes, and then chirps 3rd pretty good. Short shifting at 3500rpm from a light i was chirping the tires trying to "quietly" get ahead of an alero just before turning. On the bottom of 1st gear, its pretty slow, relatively, but once i hit 3500 rpm, it just GOES. For the record, the only real race i got in it was an 05 S2000 from 55-95 and using only 4th gear i put about a car on him. Maybe your GT has 2.73's, maybe the ignition is funky, or maybe, and probably likely if you never re-set it from factory, your timing is off, most leave the factory around 8-10*. THey should handle about 13* and i run 16* with a 10.5:1 compression on pump gas, although im not sure what you should run, given your mods. Check with your mechanic on that one.

Spinning the wheels at 5 mph is not that easy to do with an m6 it you already have the clutch engaged and just stab the gas. Either try slipping the clutch as if you were doing a drag launch or get up to 4-4.5k rpm and stab the gas. It's not like an automatic where you can just stab the gas and the slippage in the torque converter will get the rpms where you need them to be. Tires and road surface are, of course, factors as well.

02 SS, i myself was irritated with my lack of power in my 5.0 until i realized my motor prolly wasnt making crap for power at 1000 rpm AKA, 400 rpm off idle...Yeah, manual has no hydrolic slippage to aid in the RPM building, for instance, a stock GT mustang 99+ should brake stall at about 2400rpm for reference...BIG DIF from 1K...

ok, I figured the auto must have been slipping some to do that, and that being my car now is a manual there is no slippage and that was why, makes sense now. Thanks for clearing that up.
