Default Most you have towed with your fbody?

Sorry if this question doesnt really belong in this section, but I couldnt find any better section for this question. Anyways, what is the most you have towed with your fbody? I am looking to get a 18 foot sea ray bow rider and dont have a truck to tow it with. I would have to either use the SS or find a friend to take the boat. I believe the boat and trailor weigh around 2400lbs. Do you guys think this is too much weight to pull with a SS?

Your car only wieghs 1,000lbs more than that. I would advise against it, just buy a POS truck to pull stuff with.

A junker truck realy isnt that good of a solution since it requires additional insurance and another parking spot. Other then towing a boat, I have no use for a truck.

Check your owners manual for towing specs.

The most I've ever towed in my Camaro was myself and two friends. I don't even know how you could tow something with one of these. Definately not mine unless the CME is actually a great piece to hook onto.

You can tow **** with a Honda and you can damn sure tow **** behind an fbody. Not huge ****, but I'd bet it'd do 2400 lbs without breaking much of a sweat. Now the part about having to ugly up your fbody with a tow hitch would be hard to overlook

The only thing you should be pulling with a F-body is the front wheels off the ground.

Go with option #2 and find a friend to tow it.

Isn't there a bad country song about a Trans Am with a tralier hitch. I could not think of a worse taboo than towing somthing with an f-body.

my friend pulled a jet ski behind his GT all the way from IL to FL. but those arent 2400 lbs either. get the used truck or find a friend. you dont have the suspension to do it.

Yeah, I know exactly what you guys are talking about with the trailer hitch. Every time I see a vette pulling his 2 jetskis or a trailer to go to the roadraces I shake my head and think, there goes another trailer trash moron. Honestly guys, I dont see the taboo of towing a boat with a Camaro. But I think the boat I am thinking about is a tad bit too heavy. The owners manual says 1500 is the limit for a trailor. And as for not having the suspension, my friends lowered SS does fine towing his 16 foot boston whaler. No rear squat, and you cant even tell he towing anything from inside the car. It is nice to see that the fbody guys are so helpful. I cant understand why everyone calls the fbody crowd a bunch of unhelpful young asses...

Thats a good way to get positive responses to your thread.

Tow it if you want to, who cares what others think. But I know last year when I was at the lake and I saw a guy with a camaro and a jetski, I just thought 'wow thats kind of tacky'. But to each their own.

I think that boat is too heavy for the car to pull. I'll agree, its funny to see a jet ski or dirtbike in a trailer behind an fbody, but dont be jealous that we have additional toys. ps... trailer hitches come off really easy guys...

The biggest problem you'll run into is the Tounge weight of that trailer. I have a small 15 ft bass boat and there is no way that the car could safely pull it. I've never pulled behind my Z28 since i have a dakota r/t, but my buddy has a V6 camaro and he has been pulling a twin jet ski trailer for years. No problems.

Hey, this guy wasn't asking if you would tow or not, that is completely his decision! What he wants to know is how much he can tow. The towing of your Camaro is 1000 pounds.
