Default Free ram air mod on WS6?

If I did the free ram air mod where you cut out the bottom of the lid under the air filter would it create to much turbulence from the air coming in from the bottom and the air coming in from the hood? Or is it the more air the better?

imo the more air the better. the air pressure from underneath wont force out any air pressure from the front.

No, not better if the "more air" is hot air from the
radiator (which it will be, at every stop light).

If you want to improve the "ram air" system check
out removal of baffles (if it doesn't rain a lot) and/
or the "BGRA" which I think may be out of production,
but you could duplicate from pictures.

The External Engine forum is where you'd find most
of the information, if you were to search up the
pros & cons.

On WS6 I would defiantly stay away from any mods to the lower part of the air box. Stick to removing baffles, would even recommend BG ram Air kit. I now with just removing my baffles I could tell a improvement. That is a before F/I of course

i also would agree to stay away from tapping the pressure area in front of the radiator.

you will end up pulling in unwanted hot air.

the WS6 has it good as far as intake goes. just get those baffles out of there and you cant get much better than that.

If you drive it in the rain don't remove the baffles. You will take on water.

the mod from the bottom I made is from in front of the condenser so the hot-air is on the other side.
I plan to do both myself. IMO mo is better in this case.

I don't drive mine in the rain intentionally. But I made some blocker plates that fit right behind the honeycomb nostril inserts just in case. I keep them in the glove compartment.

I don't. I have a WS6 with all baffles removed and the nozzles sealed to the lid. Run an oiled filter with a clear lid and have run through torrential downpours with no issue. Filter gets a little wet but no water or condensation inside the clear filter. I wouldn't run a paper filter like that though. Could rip.

No baffles and lots of rain (live in the south), no problems!
