Default Ls3?
I have read twice about an ls3 coming. Have I been out of the loop that long? Or are these typo's? ANy additional info or links would be great, thanks ppl.

I thought they were 5.3L Iron Blocks, maybe they are Aluminum and they call them ls3's???

umm I don't think so

LS1- 1997
LS2- 2005

That's a 8 year time frame. To say an LS3 coming out in 2007 or 2008 wouldn't sound right to me anyway.

Oh ok. I did a little more research last night and the ls4 is the 5.3L aluminum for the Maliubu and Monte Carlo's. The LS3 or ls8 is what people are assuming the name of the new motor will be. I got ya...I was thinking damn, I know I haven't been out of the loop that long. lol

I wasn't aware there is a LS4 model Malibu. The only LS4 models GM has that I know of are the Impala SS, Monte Carlo SS and the Grand Prix GXP. The Malibu SS has a 3.9L v6.

The gen 1 LS6 is a 454. The gen 3 LS6 is a 346.

I haven't heard about an ls3, but the ls8 and ls9 are going to be the new
supercharged gen to be option on SS models in 2008 or 2009
Corvette blue devil SS gets the ls9 (a superchared and intercooled LS7 basically)

The new LS3 is due out likely by the end of this decade, and will displace 6.2 liters. It is also likely going to be the base engine in the c6, and it will probably find a way in some way, shape, or form into the up and coming 5th gen Camaro.

umm the LS6 is a 454, it came in the 1970 Chevelle SS454..We have a "new" LS6 now. Just an FYI napoleon....
