This is a very touchy subject for me and I'm always bitching about it.

If i'm on it hard; 113 miles to 13.6gallon fill up = 8.3mpg

If I drive like grandma baby'n the car.....150 to 160 miles to about 13 gallon fill up 11.5 to 12.3mpg.

this is an A4 with 3.23 gears, Yank 3600 TC, TSP Tourquer v.2 cam, stock heads......this heavy vert needs a tune but runs the times in my signature.

It is most reactive in Neutral or Park. You can put it in neutral and coast, say up or down a hill, or while braking and watch the needle move wildy.

If you want it to move where it belongs stop on relatively level surface just long enogh to put it in N or P, don't have to shut it off.

FYI- On my last tank of gas I didn't have any hwy miles and decided to be a good boy and make the tank last.

I got 21 MPG !!! by skipping gears and staying off the throttle.

Usually going 1 - 3 - 4 or 1- 2 - 5. Each case if different but either way it is all in the touch.

i have 4.11's and cruise on the highway at like 75 mph at just over 2k rpm (m6), I skipped paged 2-4 so I don't know if it was answered.
