98 T/A 43k miles price too much?
Well my 02 SS is sold as of tues. and im lookin for a nice older LS1. I found a 98 T/A one owner 43k miles A4, T-Tops, all the goodies, the car did have a noise coming from the rear end. We are at $11,000 right now i think i can talk down. The dealer said they would get the noise checked out. Everything else on the car was pretty well mint otherwise. Should i go for it if they fix the problem?http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/in...t=25&cardist=0

I think it is definately worth $11k if the noise is fixed. Its low miles so whether it is a 98 or a 99 doesn't matter all that much IMO...Unless you are in florida or some **** like that, but I see it is in the midwest...and up here that is a great price, especially from a dealer!
if $11k is too much for a 98 with 43k miles then me spending $13.7k means I must have WAY overpaid for my 99 with 25k miles...

well when I bought mine shortly after my rear dif started to whine and got REALLY Loud...at 26k miles...one of the bearnings on the passenger axle shaft wore the shaft down so I had to replace the bearning and the shaft...so my guess is that it could be somethin like that.. which if it is easy repair.

my buddy has a 99 A4 Z28 that he has had problems since it was brandspankin new (actually after about 10k miles were on it) with the rear making a loud noise...kind of a whining drone...idk how to describe it really. The dealer checked it out twice under warranty, and they couldn't find anything wrong with it and claim that they have had other 98 and 99 Camaros come in with that problem and they run forever. He now has 45k miles with no sign of leakage or any problems...

I think that's a good price, provided that the rear end is in good shape, like said above.
That's the problem with Trans Ams.. haha. They always go for a few grand more than Camaros.

Thanks for all your input guys, I just sold the SS today and I'm going to pick up the car tomorrow. The rear end ended up being overhauled so i wont have to worry about that. Ive owned so many camaros, so i figured it would be time for a little bit of a change . Got a 100k mile warranty on her too so I guess I'll be good to go. I'll post up some pics when i get the car.
