Being a show car and all those mods--I would take the COBRA FOR SURE....sorry guys. if that deal came to me, I would just buy the Cobra also....but I realize you are not in that position..a show car would be alot of fun, and the first rock chip would drive anyone crazy.....

Well, i think I should post a reply in here...What are you after in the Cobra? The looks??? It's still a mustang, and for me, that is why I got out of a mustang and into a WS6....they look badass, and get way more looks than a stang.....Ya, the cobra has more power, but you can fill that void with some mods...I was in the same boat as you when I bought mine....I plan to Procharge my WS6...should be about 450 to the wheels, say so long to a cobra....it comes down to mod for mod...and the one that always does it for me, is the ci....Cobra = 4.6....WS6 = 5.7....

Looks you can't really change, but power....there is no end, all depends how thick your wallet is.....save the money you would otherwise spend on upgrading to a newer vehicle, and put it into your TA....get a big motor, forged, and get a blower....call it a day!

So, I am gonna vote keep your car...62000 Miles is still young!

I would never buy a muskrat. I don't care how much of a huffer it is. Like it's been said, but a blower on anything and it'll be fast. If you want something fast and different, buy the TA, and with the money you saved on that, slap a blower on and kick the **** out of any cobra. I wouldn't take a free one. I'd sell it and buy a real car.

I know Im a newbie to this site but I'd say just keep the car you have now and add the stuff you have in a month. I think that would be the smartest thing to do

lol wow, baised I THINK SO! To the Thread Starter. Who cares what these guys say its what you want in the end? Will you be happy? What are your goals, tons of power or looks? lets break this down...I am a Mustang guy own one, been around tons and my Cuz just bought an 03 Cobra. So with that in mind these cobras are NUTS! Even if you hate ford you cant deny that the Cobra is THE BEST BANG FOR BUCK CAR ON THE MARKET....nuff said! The car that you are looking at is probably extremely clean, not abused and will make around 510hp-525tq. Also add up those mods that are done to the cobra with the new axels, BAP, TINT, Pullied, Lower Pulley, Ported blower, HE, and everything else your looking at 5k EASY! Easy low 11's and if you can drive and have a good Tire you could possibly see 10.9's...Its been done quite a few times!

Your Turbo kit for your T/a is what $8k? with all of the parts? how much did you pay for yout T/A? I bet by the time your done with your Turbo setup and whatnot your looking at WAY MORE than what the cobra will cost you. Plus there are far fewer Cobras than T/a out there! Food for thought.

EDIT: I just rechecked the Mod list on the Cobra....you are an idiot to not go with that car. If you dont PLEASE send me the info and ill personally send the money ASAP!

Still for me the bottom line is LS1 versus ford modular 4.6. Forged LS1 is > a 4.6. Look at H/C LS1's and the power they're pushing, now find a 4.6 thats pushing NEAR that power w/o FI. Thats the line for me, LS1's make more power with similar mods.

4.6 is already Forged and can handle 800+ on Turbo and 600+ on Twinscrew.

4v > 2v

A Cammed and GT Head on a 4.6 will make damn good numbers.

BTW Given the Price it would cost to buy the new T/A which is 2k less than the Cobra. You will not be able to have someone tare apart an engine, machine it, Rebuild, and Buy the Forged Internals all for 2k. So its kinda uneven if you ask me.
LETS just say you did forge the Ls1 for 2k.(not possible unless you do it yourself but lets just say) You have a Basically stock T/A For the same price as a 510-530hp Cobra with A HELLUVA lot of supporting mods? Plus the car is a year newer, and plus looks way better IMO.

How is this even up in the air?

I'm sure he meant stock Cobras I voted for the
cobra, only 2k difference in price and all those mods to boot, I don't see how you could go wrong.

4.6 put up damn good numbers with a H/C? I highly doubt as good as a 5.7 LS1 and 4 valve isnt neccessarily better than 2 valve. Look at the Ford GT with its mighty 16 valve 4.6 struggling to keep up with the 8 valve 7.0L LS7 z06

the mighty 16 valve 4.6 lol???? are you serious?, the ford GT comes with a 32 VALVE 5.4L V-8 and it by no means struggles at all to keep up with the LS7 they are actually very evenly matched.....and a good h/c 4.6 GT will be no match for a well setup h/c LS1

i read somewhere that the 03-04 cobras have a oil starvation problem to the passenger back side of the engine or maybe it was a cooling problem it seems they may have long term reliability concerns. also i read that the axles break pretty easy do to massive amounts of wheelhop. you may want to do some research on the cobra before you decide.

ohh and I vote get the cobra, brand loyalty is stupid, get the car you like better, I love Ford and GM. I've had 3 stangs and Im on my second LS1, I love them both, I just like something new every now and then, when I get sick of this LS1 ill prolly go for a terminator and when I get sick of that Ill prolly go for a new camaro' when they hit the streets, the cobra will be alot more exciting since it will be a new learning experience for you since you've never had a stang, the new WS6 would seem like the same to me....I didnt sell my 03 GT just to get an '04, I wanted something different than what I had so I went and found another nice LS1....just my 2 cents
