Default Which is better modded?

Ok Ive been doing EXTENSIVE research on which car I want....I probably have spent the last month reading and watching videos and figuring this stuff out...right now I have an 01 WS6 (m6) and I either want an 03-04 Cobra or 02-04 Z06....Im trying to see how these compare when modded...and I also need to know how reliable these vehicles are when modded

I have found an 03 Z06 blk/blk with 21k miles for $23,900
I find 03 cobras any color all day for $21k-$25k

See if I bought the cobra I would port, pulley, intake, short throw and nittos
If I bought the Z06 I will probably do exhaust, intake, short throw, nittos, and MAYBE 100/150shot of giggle juice.

All these mods would take time mind you, not right off the bat. Also with this stuff will the cars be reliable?

I can buy KBs and Whipples for the cobra all day long for around $3000, but superchargers for the Z06 seem to be around $6k...I wouldnt probably do either until the car is paid off....

My main question is this! say you have a 500rwhp cobra....what kind of hp does the z need to win, like does the cobra need a 100rwhp over the z to win or less or what?

Heres what I like about each....

Z06 (like)
1 -attention getter (panty dropper as you guys say)
3 -handeling
4 -light weight 3100lbs
5 -$60 CHEAPER insurance
6 -theres no replacement for displacement
7 -can be lowered with no extra money
8 -everyone knows its fast
9 -monster with a supercharger
10 -good gas mileage for what it is

Cobra (like)

1 -Cheap to mod
2 -factory s/c'ed
3 -forged internals
4 -deep muscle car exhaust tone
5 -can be fast for cheap
6 -sleeper (some peeps think "its just a mustang")
7 -blower whine
8 -moster with a whipple / kenne bell

Corvette (dislike)
1 -expensive to mod
2 -every will think "mommy and daddy" paid for it
3 -old, bald man stereo type
4 -some say its to compensate for what you dont
5 -people automaticly know corvette=fast
6 -pop up headlights
7 -no back seat
8 -will probably cost a little more for the vehicle

Cobra (dislike)
1 -WEIGHT 3650lbs
2 -$60 MORE insurance
3 -shifter
4 -clutch stifness
5 -most people think "its just a mustang"
6 -mustangs are EVERYWHERE
7 -bad gas mileage
8 -head tick
9 -cooling issues

PS: If you actually read this far...SORRY ABOUT THE LOOOOOOONG POST

Whats wrong with your WS6? Why not just S/C your WS6? it'd be faster then both the Cobra and Z06

Drive em both, see what you like better. Both can be made to go fast and looks like you've got deep pockets as well which is a plus. Can't go wrong with either. I wouldn't worry about any stereotypes of either one.

My choice would be Z06 easily though.

03 Z06 for $24k That car sounds too good to be true. That should easily go for 29-30k.

With that said....CORVETTE HANDS DOWN. THE BEST handling car you will find for the money. Plus, the vette gets 'em, wet....everybody and their grandma drives a stang!!

I once wanted a Cobra so bad but after driving one and driving a GM vehicle I will have to stay with GM. I would pick a ZO6 Vette anyday over a FORD.

Dude that's his thread! Check the names...

As I said on your last thread, I would go for the Z06 hands down. I've been driving around in my friends GT, which I know isn't a Cobra performance wise, but other than that its the same. I don't like it. Just a matter of personal preference, but when I drive my parents vette around its the funnest car I've ever driven. The mustang just doesn't feel good to me. I would take a little bit of a slower vette that would take me longer to mod over a faster Cobra, just cuz I love the car so much...

03-04 Cobra = ~$35k Brand New

02-04 Z06 = ~$50k Brand New

Get the Z06 if you can afford it. It is just a better all around car. You get what you pay for, if your getting a 50k dollar car at the same or near the same price as a mid-30 thousand dollar car, its not a tough decision. Use your head.

yeah 23.5k for an 03 Z06, is a deal, but i dont believe it. The car has to have been in a wreck, flooded, etc.

Please PM me whos selling the Z06 for 23.5k, ill buy it today .

Im pretty sure cam/bolt-on Z06's walk pullied cobras (with all the bolt-ons and supporting mods). Yeah the cobra probably needs 65-75 extra ponies on top of the vette to stay even.

My brothers 04 cobra coupe was 3735lbs w/o him in it, the Z06 is going to be slightly over 3100lbs. That pretty much means that the Z06 would need two offensive linemen from the NFL stuffed in the trunk to even try to be as sloppy fat heavy as a terminator.

Im not hating on cobras, i just think these recent threads of Z06 vs Terminator for the same price, whos better, etc ......are just stupid .

My brothers cobra is one HELL of a car right off the showroom floor . Not to meantion if its pullied or KB'ed. They are good cars, and very respectable ones at that, but its still a mustang. The terminators have an AWSOME engine, but thats about it. The engine is a 12.5 on a scale of 1-10. The car is still on a stone-aged platform, the shifter sucks, the internior is poorly made, handles like a pig even with the IRS, rattles, squeeks, humms, the list goes on.

BTW: If i had a choice i would have bought a terminator over my car, even with its downfalls.

for those infering that I am asking the same questions I am NOT...this isnt a thread for which should I buy...this is a thread to discuss how the cars perform with different mods...how much HP does the cobra need over the vette to be even with it and beat it...

also for those who say its impossible...its not! the seller is actually a friend of mine and thats what he wants for it...he doesnt care...hes rollin in $ like its nothing....plus he just bought brand new c6 and is currnely having the motor built and twins installed....crazy ****! will be 1000hp easy

point is im not asking which should I buy Im asking how each of these cars do with mods...how reliable they are....etc etc

Oh and I can pick up 01s with under 50k all day long for $21k-$24k some with only 20k miles!
