Default New Lid

Heya I got a new lid from MTI on Saturday but there is no hole for the temp. sensor in the new lid. Do I need to drill a hole, if so what size? I told the guy it was for a 02 camaro but did he give me the wrong one?

Thanks

i went with an slp lid because it already has the whole. i really wanted an mti clear lid. I dont like the look of the breather filter. The main reason I didnt just buy the MTI was because i was afraid of cracking it when drilling.....

I had a MTI lid a few years back and I didn't have to drill any holes. The IAT
sensor hole was pre-drilled. Something change?

Doesn't matter. '98-'02 all have the IAT sensor in the lid, and they all need the same hole.

You're thinking of the hole for the AIR pump intake. '98-'99 don't need it, '00+ need either the extra hole or a breather filter.

Well i called MTI yesterday to ask about the hole. He said that they use to drill the hole for people but they stopped doing it, something about some people don't need it. He told me to drill a 5/8" hole in it myself.

you dont have to drill.........just stick a breather filter on the end of the air pump hose and zip tie it to something. Its not like it moves or anything so it will be fine, and you dont have to drill any holes in any lids.

I bought a breather filter for the air pump hose. The hole i'm talking about is for the IAT.

I wonder why anyone would not be running an IAT sensor? Either way, I'm sure 99% of people are using one and need that hole. Can't understand why MTI would make that decision???

I'd just buy a lid from somone else....
