Here's a how-to

I got a new grommet and IAT sensor. It was like $10.
That big hole on the side is for a sensor or something that the 00-02 cars have. My SLP lid came with a plug for that hole since mine's a 98.

My whisper lid I bought back in '01 didn't come with that - no hole either - just put a filter on the end of the air hose. Did it come with a plug for the hole in the lid? If so use it and get a filter, if not your choices are to connect the air hose, or find something like an expansion plug for the hole - and still use a filter.

what year is your car? if you have an 01-02 car then theres another hose that connects to the SLP hose! fits like a glove! if its not then just ignore the hose b/c you orderd the wrong lid, and just plug it with a grommet.

Just leave it hooked up to your lid unless you decide to delete your A.I.R. pump. It's down behind the drivers side headlight and pumps air coming from your lid to your exhaust manifolds. No biggie leaving it attached. If you decide to delete, put a plug or grommet there to seal up the hole and lose the pump and all the tubing.

If you have an 00-02 ls1 there has got to be a hose on your drivers side look for it because when I bought my 01 ss they had a g2 air lid on it for a 98 99 ls1..... so they pushed the hose down ...but I bought an slp lid and put the air hose back.
