Default Best headers for slp lm2 exhaust

I'm working on getting headers y-pipe, and cam shaft for my 02 and was wondering what headers would give me the highest performance with my lm2 exhaust system. Money is also not a big deal cause I want the best for the car.

Lt's - any!!!

In terms of HP. expensive ones generally fit better and are made from stainless.

Personally I like Pacesetter & Edlebrock as budget coated headers. And Edlebrock, QTP & Kooks as expensive stainless ones.

ALL will offer about the same HP.

(Stay clear of SLP headers though).

All are available with Y pipes and most with CATTED Y pipes. If you go ORY you may want to swap the muffler on your LM2 as they tend to get a little unruly and raspy. Borla and Magnaflow are the popular choices.

As for cams, well there's LOADS of choice.

I wouldn't go any milder than a TR224/224 because anything less and it's hardly worth swapping the cam IMO.

But there are plenty of nice mild to wild cams out there, such as:

Tunder Racing
-Trak
-Trex

Texas Speed & Performance
-Torquer V3
-Magicstick 4

Some cams will require more supporting mods like ARP bolts, oil pump, timing chain and gears.

If money isn't an issue I would go with the Kooks QTP's. And with a 224/224 cam only you can still crank out close to 400 at the wheels with full bolt'ons and a good tune. I have a 224/224 but I am minus the underdrive pulley as far as full bolt'ons and my car has a nitrous tune in it and still made 385rwhp on a dynojet.

I have had good luck with my SLP headers. Even one of the mechanics that works on my car say that all the SLP header cars he has tuned have put down great numbers for as much as people talk bad about them. I thru down 394 rwhp with 224/224 cam and a daily drivin tune. Good Luck.

I think for a "beginner cam" and exhaust package I would go with:

-228R Cam- Little surging, great all round power, good for daily driving.

-Hooker SuperComps (LTs)are the BEST for the price IMO.

Search the 228R Cam and see what people have to say about it. Also its not such a high lift cam which means not so much valve spring maintance, and dont have to worry about breaking valve springs(Which is nice).

Buy a cam package as well.

Any further info PM me, Predator Z, or Orangeapeel.

kooks are fantastic(top of the line) but you can almost buy a cam package with the extra money you saved from buying Pacesetters/Hooker's.

Think about it.
