How Long Will An LS1 Aluminum Engine Last?

Well the block itself will most likely out last you.
Remember while aluminium may be new to Chevy V8's it's been used for the best part of 100 years for automotive engines.

Well, go to the dynometer section and look for my thread "Post your high mileage numbers"
I found a 51K miles M6 01 Z28 BONE STOCK that made 304whp and a 118K mile 99 WS6 M6 bone stock that made 296whp with a DIRTY! air filter and 306whp with the filter removed.
118K miles and still dynoing what it did the day it rolled off the assy. line pretty much.
Take care of it and these motors last a LONG time. Just dont run it low on oil!!! They like to spin bearings when you do this...

So worry more about the condition of your body than the longevity of your aluminum engine block.
