Question disappointing track times...

I ran my car for the first time yesterday at the track. Here's what I got: 99 Camaro SS with 3.23's A4 and Pace Setter Long Tubes 3 in ory magnaflow cat back and SLP lid. I also had drag tires on. My best run was a 13.47 at 102. everyone on here told me I should run around a 13 flat. anyone know what up?

Stock ls1 runs 14.1 - 14.2 here. I run 13.0 with moded ls1 and stick tires. You need to compare cars on the same track, on the same day.

the 60ft will tell a lot, but also your sea level and track. my car doesnt see anything better than 8.80 on the 1/8th, and im about 100ft below sea level, but i know my track sucks a lot, so my 60ft are about 2.5 or more.

gotta post your 60 foots and the track. some tracks arent i the best of shape as far as maintenance and prep are concerened. if its a slow track in general and your 60's are 3ound 2.3, or 2.4 that would explain alot

Post your whole timeslip, location of the track and the date/time of the run for some help.

the track says it all.. here where i live the tarmac on the track is so bad that whe have no grip at all, my cars spisn wheels in 1 2 and 3rd gear, i havnt got under 2.5 in the 60's, went 13,7 on my m6 car and was wjheru disapointed, but that was when the car was bone stock with a fried clutch, raced my friends 02 m6 car last frday went 13.6@108 = no grip, good power,

i think 13.42 is a fine time, but 102mph is not that good on a ls1 car

You're about 1,400 feet above sea level from what I found on a google search. That's gonna hold you back some but not enough to explain a 102 mph trap speed. You should have trapped around that stock.

It sounds to me like you need a dyno tune. I know that after I had my LT's put on my car was running like crap and only trapping 101-102. I got it on a dyno and found out I was only making 270 RWHP with a 17:1 AFR. After some tuning New Era Performance got the car down to 12:1 AFR and up to 300 RWHP (through an unlocked converter BTW).

After that my traps were 108-109

Good luck.

According from the info you gave me the DA' at that track on June 22 @ 8:52 PM was 2615'. Your corrected time was 13.06 @ 105.

Your car = Fine.
Your track's DA =

A short and dirty explanation is density altitude. It tells how thin the air is at a given moment.

A track with high elevation high temperature and high humidity will have thin air therefore a high DA.

A track below sea level, with cold temperatures and low humidity will have very thick air therefore a low or negative DA.
