Default Now a happy new 2001 SOM WS6 owner!!

Hi all,
I used to have a 2000 ta ws6 (pewter) until I sold it a couple years ago.Anyways I have regretted it since.I always wanted a SOM ws6 and have been looking for a long time.So I came across a 2001 with 110K miles on it for $9000.I drove it tonight and put a deposit down. The motor and trans are strong. The rear rides a little rough (needs new shocks?).Interior is good except for a broken ash tray door, and loose TC button mount.Exterior has a few dings and stone chips on hood and headlight doors.drivers side headlight wont go up and fog lights wouldnt come on.I included some pics. Please let me know what you think. Is it worth it for this and put a couple thousand into it or should I just hold out and spend the 20K ???
Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Edited 7-19-07,I now have the car at home.Let the mods begin!!

X2

I love it when I beat M6's at the track and they say "Well you have an auto". Here they say it as a negative. But at the track they are saying it as a positive

I fully understand that some people are so in love with clutches and shifting that they would rather lose with a M6 then win with a A4. But not everyone shares that same point of view. I personally want the win every day of the week and twice on TnT Sunday!

Liquiddvds,

I would buy that car in a heartbeat. Then just fix any minor cosmetic stuff. Oh and put a big stall in it

I'd rather have an M6 for a street/strip car It's more fun to drive on the street as well and you can't beat the gas mileage with 6th gear on the highway either It's the stronger transmission as well Holds 450rwtq stock and can support over 700rwtq in built form Not sure the 4L60E can do that If I only raced with it sure I'd get an auto

FYI: I'd still buy this car for that price.

Im just speaking from my experience. I had a 94 z28 a4, and I hated it. Swore if I ever got another one it would be a m6. Havent regretted it yet

My ***** are a bit jealous.. that right hand isnt as bored as it used to be.. haha

Which is more fun is a matter of opinion. Big stalls with big STR's can keep some of us very entertained on the street or at the track. Gas mileage is definately in favor of the M6.

But lets be honest here. If we were really interested in great gas mileage then we would all be driving small engine hybrids.

In stock form the 4L60E definately has it's limitations. But built ones by Rossler have handled 700+ rwhp and been used to run into the 9's. Not too shabby if I do say so myself.

The T56 is definately the stronger of the two transmissions and I won't even try to argue with that. But when you factor in the weak links (stock clutch and 10 bolt) the M6 costs more to make reliable at a track with the 450 rwtq you mentioned then the auto does.

That's cool. If I only wanted to play on the streets from rolling starts then I likewise would get a M6.

And I too would buy the car at that price.
