Bounced off rev limiter, am i screwed?

i let a friend of mine drive my camaro for the first time and he started doing almost exactly what the guy in that video was doin. i was yelling at him to shift. he was able to blow the seal on my power steering pump by over revving the engine like that, but the pump was already strained from when my rack was leaking not too long ago.
the rev limiter is there to protect the engine from over revving when youre going up through the gears, however, it is not designed to protect the engine when down shifting

well everybody here has done it and not to many has any horror stories. so thats the answer just dont miss a shift going to third and end up in first. that will so some damage.

Just about everytime I go to the track I hit off the rev limiter in 2nd at least once. (cross fingers) no probs. thats what its there for. Now if you dont know how to let off when you hit it then youll have probs.

I went from 3rd to 2nd @ 105mph.... Split a spring on #7 and got out with any other problems... I was skipping down the track ^_^... After that I figured out that 4th is a palm towards the passenger side of the car shift .. I highly recommend that nobody try doing that lol

yea i know from 2nd to 3rd i let the shifter's spring do the work for me to go into 3rd and from 3rd to 4th straight down, but i have noticed left handed people that are not used to stick tend to have trouble from 3rd to 4th

well wow thats a hek of a story man i could imagine how the engine would be crying!!! i would be to if i were there, but yea i was only worried about the 2nd to 3rd shift when i got my car but now i got that part hand down, all i need now is an ls7 clutch setup with an aluminum flywheel i would really love that setup, what was also weird i noticed when i powershifted during a burout into 2nd gear i noticed about 3 yards of no skid mark between the shift!!! im not sure if my shift wasent fast enough or my clutch would be craping
