Default LS1 compared to LS6?

Besides the obvious power and torque difference, is there any size or outward difference? For example, larger oil pan, A/C compressor on the opposite side.....

Well, since the LS6 came in the Corvette...the accessories are slightly different.

But other than that everything is the same...LS1 parts will bolt to LS6, etc... They have bolt holes in the same places..

ls6 cam is slightly larger, and the ls6 heads flow better.
the ls6 block also burn less oil.

besides that, the two engines are the same.

*less oil consumption due to revised pcv system
* bigger cam
* better flowing heads cast #243 also has sodium filled exhaust valves and hallow valve stems for light valve train
* the alternator is in a different location, but u can swap a f body alternator and power steering pump
*they all come with an LS6 intake and drive by wire 80mm tb
* the bottom end of the motor is pretty much the same
that is all thats on the top of my head

I believe the LS6 shares the oil breather cavities in the block like the LS7 does for High-rev applications.

That's dependent on what car they came in. Both in a vette, the accessories, oil pan etc are the same. LS1 f-body accessories are totally different in placement and offset than the Vette setups. There was also an LS6 CTSV that had yet another style setup.

they put a few ls6 blocks in a few camaros but never a full LS6. the only major differences between LS1 and LS6 are the heads/cam and the block is a little different, but still interchangeable with a LS1 block

I thought the 02 Z28s and T/As came with LS6 parts? Or was it just the LS6 intake?
