Exclamation Port stock intake and TB till i get FAST 90/90 worth it?

Hey yall just a question here might be stupid or not. i am waiting to get the FAST 90/90 setup for my car but i was wondering if it would be worth it and cost effective for right now to just port my stock intake(LS6 manifold for the 2002) and TB till i can get it cause i dont know how much it costs to have a shop do the work.

I know the 90/90 set up is expensive cause just the intake alone last i looked was over a 1k bucks. then id have to get the TB as well. any advice would be appreciated on this even if you know of a better intake and TB setup than the 90/90 for a cheaper cost id listen.

how do you open up a LS6 mainfold to port it?? its a one piece design. port matching would run u into the seals,,

ported and polished TB's are very effective, cheap means of getting some more ponies,,,you will get a better responding throttle feeling.

i dont have a clue how to port the intake hell i didnt even know if it could be done but i thought i read something about it a while back but it could have been on a different intake. is there anything that you can do to the stock LS6 intake short of changing it for something else to get more power from it?

bout the only thing i think you could possibly do is a bit of port matching,,but even then, id think youd run into the seals that are there...

I to want a 90/90, but really, until im heads and cam,,,i think id loose some bottom end if i installed it now...not certain,,,so dont quote me there.

i DO know that i gained quite a bit (butt dyno) when i went from my LS1 intake and stocker TB, to a LS6 intake...i then added the PnP'ed TB later on,,,and "felt" a quicker repsonse and such...all in all im quite happy with my LS6 set up,,,,until i go heads and cam.

LS-6 intake is perfect the way it is. Cheap bang for the buck and a little SITP feel is port and polish the stock TB for about $125 till you got the funds for the Fast intake.

IMO roughly 1400 bucks fro the intake/TB combo for an extra 10-15 hp only above 4500 rpms over the ls6 is it really worth it I mean if you have money just to dump into it by all means go for it but if your budgeted I would just save the money just my $.02

Yeah I gotta agree. After reading that thread it seems like a waste of cash. Get your H/C package on the car and put the other funds to put the power to the ground (LCA'S, Panhard bar, ETC....)

If you plan to get the Fast don't port any of the stock stuff, just save your money...it all adds up.
