Salt in gas tank
Has anyone ever had someone to this terrible act of putting salt in the gas tank. I only drove it about 6 miles until he made me aware that he did something to my car in which i found this. Does anyone know the effects it will have? 2001 Camaro SS

Not sure about salt doing anything but sugar is bad bad bad......you may be ok with salt depending how much he put in there. Either way, I would prolly drop the tank and clean it out just to be safe......lift your rear carpet and see if anyone has replaced your fuel pump and cut an access hole, if they have you can use it to clean it out. So who done this? They were riding with you?

locking gas caps are dumb and so easy to still open, i personally dont mess with someone else's car but know a**holes that do. deffinately clean the tank or take it somewhere to get it cleaned(i think radiator shops can do it but not sure). if i was in you spot and knew that someone did something to my car and i knew who that someone was he would have a nice new hospital braclet and id be waiting for my assault court date.

i would assume this scenario would either lead to the "fist in face" or "foot in ***" effect.
seriously though hopefully have to drain the gas out? salt is pretty heavy, hopefully it settled to the bottom. may have to change some filters?
good luck

Report filed and insurance company involved. Now I need the restraining order to protect myself. I would never stoop to his level of immaturity and revenge tactics.

no revenge tactics just a good ol *** whoopin somewhere that no one is at and be sure some one else drives you up there so you can say my cars been at home all day, ask the neighbors lol. vandalism is disrespect and Im big on respect beat that *** take out the price in damages in hospital bills. restraining orders are for woman from rapists and abusers. I guess im just not liberal enough im too fond of a good ol *** woopin.

LOL, trust me I would love to kick his *** but I am a woman that don't want beat back... If he stooped to this freaking level then god only knows what he would do next. I m sure he is hiding out somewhere and for his sake he should be. Was it Provoked? to answer that post. ... Telling him that it was over and he needed to move out.. No i wouldn't say it was provoked.

Any guy that messes up a Camaro on purpose is a tool bag.
I would swap the fuel filter, get the injectors flushed and remove the fuel pump to check what was in the tank.
A lot of this will just be PM work for later. You don't want the injectors in your car to be more than 50% clogged.
What douche, if someone did that to my car they would wind up with some foot in *** disease real quick.

lol maybe he was jealous you had a nicer car then him, Sugar isnt as bad as salt i work at autozone and every few months people come in with the same problem, sugar disolves in gas salt doesnt, I would use an engine cleaner, and flush the engine, be sure to drop the tank and have it cleaned very well, i would reccommend not driving it at all are you positive he actually put it in the tank, also try putting seafome in the engine
