I don't have any experance with the ls7 clutch but every thing i've read about that clutch has been good. Get a slave for the 02 fbody. The throw out bearing is what pushes the fingers on the pressure plate to disengage the clutch plate. You'll want to replace the throw out bearing when you have every thing apart. The pilot bearing is in the center of the fly wheel and the input shaft of the trans goes in that, replace that too. When i pulled my engine for the first time the seal in back of my trans was leaking with only 27k on the clock. so check yours before you pull the trans. I used GM'S syncro mesh for the trans fluid and i replace my seal with GM's as well. While the trans is off you'll be able to see if the rear main seal for the crank is leaking too, if so replace because you have to have the trans out to do so.

Most new slave cylinders come with a throwout bearing anyway. I had the LS7 setup in my TA when it was still a 6 spd and loved it. It never gave me problem in the city or the track.

Check the Manual Transmission Forum as well.

Same here. Only difference is I went with the Fidanza flywheel. The LS7 clutch + LS2 flywheel adds a few lbs. So the lighter flywheel just offset the extra few lbs and put me back to what the stock LS6 weighed.

I beat the dog **** out of my clutch (2nd gear dumps off the line) and it holds great.....I've had it a little over a year now with no issues.

Spec Stage 3+. Hands down the best clutch for a street strip car. Had all others, and nothing compares. Done many 6400 RPM dumps with slicks, and never had a problem. Just my $.02
