Default How to fine tune the LSx motors?

I'm new to these motors, and have an LS2 on the way... I am wondering how you guys fine tune these LSx motors for maximum power?...

Are you guys using the PIGGY BACK ECU's (Like Greddy E manage) systems on these motors? Where as you wire it up to the cars stock ECU, bust out the laptop on the dyno and adjust the fuel and air mix accordingly? Or do you dis the Stock ECU's all together and rewire a stand alone ECU on it's own and then tune to perfection? What the best way?

Please forgive my for these basic questions.. I've installed several Piggy back units Greddy, Apexi, Spitfire, EMS, etc..on several import V8's and leaned out the fuel mix and got good results, I got as much as 20rwhp gains and actual better gas mileage on a few......

Now some newer ECU car computers are very smart and can actually re-adjust after final tunes are set from the PIGGY's... In that case the Piggy's become useless...

Any info would be helpful, thanks... (I got this APEXI laying around wondering if I can use it)?

As mentioned above, we do not need any of that piggy back stuff to make power. We have the software available to tune the stock ECU to as much as 1000rwhp or more! Typical gains on a stock setups can range from 10-30 rwhp. Gotta love the domestic V8s (market).
