Default Disappointing results...why?

I have a 2002 WS6 A4... I only had a catback, MTI lid and some spark plugs with my sumitomo tires and my car ran an 8.85 at 83.33mph in the 1/8 mile. Since than I added some pacessetter headers,TSP ORY, MSD wires and new plugs and an a 160" thermostat with a mild tune for shift points and gas efficiency. I took the car to the track again and ran pretty much the same time I ran an 8.802 at 84.54mph only thing that changed is that now I have a greater trap speed, before I could not get passed 83mph. I am kind of dissappointed on my times I was expecting to run 8.3's or minimum 8.5. Was just wondering if this is typical since what i need are more performance parts? I was spinning a bit more than last time. Also had one question about the thermostat is it suppose to be on the 210 mark on the gauge or below since its a 160" thermo?... Sorry for the long post ill put up a vid of a nitrous GT that I raced later just got to upload it..Thanks

The better trap shows that your mods added power. Lowering your ET will require a better launch. What kind of 60 foot times are you getting?

Same as above, what was your 60 foot on both passes? There is a lot more to it than what your ET and Trap speed is.

You probably gained a max of 20-25HP from the headers and ORY, so I would expect you to drop something like a 1/10th or so in the 1/8th.

Sorry not to hijack but DAMN that gt sure took off hard. You need a stall man maybe a 3600+ and a set of sticky tires and youll roll out just like that GT did.

What do you mean "mild tune"? Its ethier tuned or its not. If you are using a hand held tunner AKA do it your self tunner,I strongly recommend you get it DYNO tuned properly.

I traded this guy some parts so he wouldd partially tune my car since the parts where not the full value of a good tune... he had the HP tuners program... he did not tune all the way since it was just a friendly tune... he told me to call him when i get more parts

i still dont get why people are os stuck on dyno. if you have the right program and a laptop. you can have it plugged into your car when driving. a dyno is a stable road.

if someone had the same knowledge with the software it would be the same effect without an actual DYNO.
