New Orleans mechanic?
I've got a buddy who lives in New Orleans. He needs some work done on his car.
It's a 2000 Impala, 3.4 liter
His crank pulley seems to have come out far enough to make the belt come off.
Here is the picture he sent me:
I can't get down there to work on it. He's not looking to get it done for free, but can't afford to take it to the dealer.
If you want to work on his car, or know a trustworthy independent mechanic; send me the contact info. I'll pass it on.
Thanks,
Hilton

It's me
This is my car. Just thought I would respond. It's like the grooves of the pulley have shifted and are just about a quarter inch off. Strange. Never seen the likes of it before.

From the looks of it the balancer bolt didn't fall out. The outer hub has slipped off the inner hub. There is a piece of rubber that separates the 2 that balances the harmonics, hence harmonic balancer. Alot of the factory balancers do that over time. I'll pm you my number.
