Anyone know of a machine shop in town or close that is familiar with LS blocks? The guy I talked to acted like he didn't know the rotating assembly needed to be balanced.

This is what I got today. When I get some extra money I'm gonna paint it to match, but leave the scoop untouched like a manta stripe. Also gonna cut the scoop and underside so it'll be functional. It has the tunnels just isn't cut.

^^^damn, is it that bad around here? I asked the guy about just replacing my worn crank for a good one, freshening the motor up and putting it back together. He said sure that would work. I said what about the rebalancing the rotating assembly? He says "well, it should be ok (without balancing)" Im not spending my money on "should be"

O ya, I met a guy named Tony at the "Every third saturday" sonic cruise in boosier with a white LS1 camaro, ghost flames, draglites. He said he was on here, I talked with him a bit about the car. No offense to the guy but the motor looked bone stoke, he said he was spraying a 200 shot, ls7 heads worked, some 6-speed tranny. I did look under the car and it had aftermarket torque arm and some crap on rear end. Pretty clean car none the less. Also he said it went high 11's..o ya i think he said 706hp dynoed on spray?

No way! I wouldn't classify that as ricey... hell, that would mean that the entire F1 scene is rice, then!

Besides, he said he's gonna paint it!

So...

John is very good, If you can get HIM to build the motor. He stays so busy with paperwork and building dirt track motors that he seldom does any assembly on shortblocks, (this is from one of his employees) I talked to him months ago about building my motor and he didnt offer any warranty on it. Therefore, I chose Kittlers build my engine. The guy that built my motor at Kittlers worked for PTS supposively for many years. I choose to let Kittlers build my engine basically because I got a 1 YEAR WARRANTY. Parts and labor.

I've used Kittlers for years. I like them a lot.

I haven't had them do anything as extensive as what you're considering, but they've done good work on everything I've asked them to do.

But im not real dumb either i choose kittlers to build my engine and he worked at PTS for years well a built motor is NOT STOCK the last time i checked. Anyhow how long you gonna leave that thing in the garage to look purty? Seems alot of people are looking for somin to run....But Im sure they looking for somin STOCK!!!!
