a few of us went down there last year a few times, but I dont think anyone from here has been going lately. Not real sure though.

Just a reminder to everyone, Thunder Road Raceway Park will be opening Friday March 5th with a Test & Tune night. A few weeks after they open the Friday night T&T program will also have a street car racing program. I did go to the track and meet with the owners, AHRA reps, and the new track manager. I was assured that those of us that like to race our street cars were going to positively like the programs they have planned.

 

is tech pretty "loose" for the tnt events? i would assume if they are trying to get a more street oriented scene racing they might let more go.

Safety is going to be up to the track, I don't may the rules. The AHRA has rules on what they consider a car to be safe for the speed it runs. I really don't think they are going to let go of much, and really I don't want to line up against someone in the other lane who's car isn't safe. Not saying your car isn't safe, just saying helmets, roll bars, & driveshaft loops have a place at certain speeds. Most I've seen them look for on a street car is to see the battery is secure, now if your speed really starts to get up there and your times get down they are going to tell you to get a roll bar. A helmet and driveshaft loop is just a smart thing.
