Found it. You might coulda used a couple more mph, but depends on how you hook. I spun on this run, but was happy as hell cause it was first 12. Setup was LT's, ORY, LM1, SLP lid and some bald nitto dr's.

I had a great time too. I'd like to start going more often.

Now it's time for excuses.
"I'm rusty."
"I'm not used to the (choose one) engine, transmission, gears, clutch, tires"
"Line lock had some issues"

Riding on the rev limiter in 4th at 118 didn't help. I shifted into 5th my second run to see what would happen. MPH went down.

The 2.1 60' on a 28" tall MT shows what a shitty driver I've become. The car just doesn't feel familiar.

I'm downright THRILLED that nothing catastrophic happened to my car. I've gotten a little gun shy in the last couple years.

Some changes will be made. Nothing too serious. I'm going to beg Steve for some gear labor, buy a set of front tires, and adjust the line lock.

I may have a something else in line as well. I've got a box full of joy sitting here just looking at me.

Someone asked me last night if my heads were the 225 version. I mistakenly said "Yes", they are not. They are the cnc 215 ones. Sorry, my bad. I also think I called Andy, "Anthony" 2 or 3 times.

HAHA Hilton your all of the above I think. You have an all new setup and your rusty on top of it. Seat time is what we all need. I think this is the first outing for many and the first outing in a quite awhile for the rest of us. The conditions were changing every run. I started at 25psi then was down to 18psi just to hope to hook. My car definitely over powers the dr's which I knew it would. It's pointless to run them on a 6spd. Next time she'll be on a DOT sticky tire ready to hammer some *** and get my 20 pack back
My reaction times were poor cause I was frightened of hearing the 10 bolt explode underneath me lol. I was really more concerned with leaving good and not spinning and doing a solid run. I know by my trap times that I was in the high 11.6-11.8 range all night just comparing to other time slips I have. Cant wait to get the 9" back under it.

I'm still proud of my buddy Steve. He deserved every second of his passes. He has had some misfortune the past couple of years and his patience has payed off. I think that was the first time I was ever happy about losing

Looks like my 1.9 pass was on it's way to be a 12.9. Same exact 330 FT but MPH dropped 3 in the 1/8th. (I missed 3rd as always, when I do a good 60ft I miss third.)

About making this a hobby(I'm assuming you mean drag racing at the track), I don't know, I like the strip because it gives me a chance to become a better driver and know what I and my car are capable of, but the street is a lot more fun in general.

My end goal with this car is to make a street car that can also be fun at the strip. "11s" is all I want. but as you all know it takes money, waiting for a deployment to the sandbox to come up so I can get that money

For now I'm thinking what to buy next paycheck...new clutch or SFC/LCA. or 4.10s. I want to retune this thing but if i'm going to get 4.10s I might as well wait for that.

Yeah it needs raising. Mine is at 6800. How close to the traps before hitting the limiter in 4th?

When I say hobby, I mean just a hobby. Something you can enjoy anytime. I'm suggesting the 9" so you wont be wasting mod money building the 10 bolt over and over and trust me they will bust on the street as well. You wont have to worry about a properly built 9" til your well into the 1XXXhp range unless you go with a posi which even then should be good til 700ish IIRC. I always ran a spool. Problem free and no moving parts. My car like it sits even when I had the 9" w/ 4.11's still got 26mpg and even though I hauled it to the track, IF I wanted, I could drive to the track throw the Mickeys on and knock out an 11 sec pass and then take another road trip. Most of us have our cars built that way, and thats what makes it even more enjoyable cause its like having 2 cars in one.

As for your 3rd gear miss, are you running a stock shifter still? If so, get a shifter. Mine is a B & M but I'm not sure they make it anymore and even though I shifted with others in other fbods I liked mine best. Maybe cause I took the time to play with it and get it adjusted right, but who knows.

I believe my next mods were 4.10's and a clutch after the exhaust. Oh and a tune. I stayed like that for a few years and added suspension stuff like SFC, LCA's, and rear shocks. Then a tunnel mount T/A and a 9". Then a cam and thats where the fun really began.

I have an MGW shifter, and the shifting problem isn't so much as me going in the wrong gear but it's like I hit a wall. and I have to wait for RPMs to go down so I can get into third, it only happens at track. Used to happen on the street too when I went WOT but the Tick fixed that. No problems shifting on street during a WOT run after tick

Seems like a 9" is perfect, I will never make 700hp. at most I would want 450 rwhp but right now 400rwhp is my goal.

I don't think I'm going to the track for a while unless it's another group thing so I think I will get 4.10's and SFCs next. or 4.10's and a re-tune. then a clutch

I've heard good things about the MGW, but have never tried one. Yeah a clutch and new slave will solve those problems. Just stay on top of your clutch fluid maintenance and it'll last quite awhile.

They were so impressed with how bad I stomped Josh at the track that they made me a moderator They also suggested I give out bans for all the M6 nut-huggers.........I'm still thinking on that one

Whew, I'm safe on that one.
Looks like "Moderator Steve" has a new nickname!
"So shall he be called from this day forth."

Josh, when Pat G was designing my cam I told him I wanted low range power and that I wouldn't be shifting above 6400.
I know I could ask Greg to bump it a little just to get through the trap, but I don't want to do that. I think I have a pretty clear picture of what I want to do with the car for the first time ever.
Please Stand by for HiltonPlan identification.

Nope, she stays in the garage 99.9% of the time collecting dust/dirt. Odds of a random public outage spotting is slim to none.

Can anyone suggest a local machine shop for boring, balancing, and assembling a shortblock?

I think I have an pretty good idea of the "Hilton plan" I probably won't agree with some or most of it. Thats usually how it goes with me and Hilton though.....
