Well, Glad you guys calibrated the TPS (Wade and Cody). I'm pretty sure his linkage is why you couldn't get it into first earlier today. Sorry I couldn't get to the computer to answer your questions earlier today. (out on the road all day) Curious how early you are having to tell the tranny to shift so his '98 computer can shift the tranny in time not to hit the limiter. If getting that TPS calibrated took care of it, and it shifts when programmed, I can email you a tranny tune that might work all the way through. (unless of course you've got it all done now). Cody, sounds like you're happy with your engine and engine tune now. Remember, I'm available anytime for questions or tweaking, and you have unlimited free adjustments until your next performance mod.

There where issues with the tune, Wade knows more but I do know that the rev limiter was still set @ 6250. its set to shift @ 6600 and shifts around 6560-6580. Also we didn't have to calibrate the TPS, it was showing 100%. Like Wade said earlier the trans tune was trash.

TA Chris, this is a GM part number for a vented oil fill cap. Might help you out with your PCV stuff : 12589430 Bout 15 bucks, lets the crankcase vent to the atmosphere when the PCV is not adequate or frozen up (cold climates). I bought one for 11.50 off ebay. i think I may run one just for the hell of it.

That's weird about the TPS sensor. I was only registering a little better than 80-85%. Maybe, when you bent the throttle cable bracket that allowed the throttle to open up more or something. Interesting.
As far as transmission "limp mode", let me know what you find. I've never seen a "limp mode" allow it to run through every gear but 1st, and allow power at wot to over a hundred mph. But, I definitely have not seen everything and am not a tranny expert either. It launched out of 1st just fine for me, as long as I started from a dead stop. However, if you tried to pull the linkage down to manually make it start in first, it would not do it due to linkage adjustment.
Lastly, let me know if you guys are able to stop the surge when shifting it from park to a gear or reverse to drive. The throttle follower and throttle cracker are completely out of the way. If you mess with the base idle airflow too much, she won't idle for you at all without surging. So, the only thing I can think of is the IAC or your '98 Computer just can't adjust as quickly as needed for your cam set up. Your car is the only car I have had that problem with. I can usually get it nailed down pretty quick, but chased yours for a while. So, if you figure it out, definitely let me know.
Sorry I didn't get all of the issues figured out for you, but I didn't want to beat on your car too much without you here and break something when you weren't present and could tell me whether or not to keep going on it. Also sorry for the mistake on the rev limiter. I just looked through all the adjustments I made to your computer, and the rev limiter was switched back about half way through the tuning. Can't believe I let that one get by me. Glad you're making progress, keep me posted.
ps....I have a good tranny tune that I'm using in some mid 10 to high 9 second cars that is perfectly streetable if you want to bring it back to me once you figure out your linkage or "limp mode" problem. These cars have been running this tranny tune for about 3 years now without any problems.

Holy Crap!!! I can't believe that!!! I had set your rev limiter for 6800 on the first adjustment I made for your car. Then, with all of the information I was having to move around, I downloaded some stuff from a previous tune, and totally forgot to go back and check the rev limiter. Holy amateur mistake! Now that pisses me off right there.

Uh oh... there is a black camaro in town that is set on kill with a tune fully capable to get the job done! Thanks Todd. The engine tune works great. Only thing I can figure is the P0121 (MAP) was causing all the problems. Its good now though for sure. 6900-7200 shift points FTW!!! It varies cause the computer cant keep up... gay.
