I licensed my 2000 s10 the other day to get familiarized with the program. pretty simple to eliminate stuff. Although the computer on this truck seems rather limited. Guess cause its a manual and V6.

Should be a runner. My dad's friend has that exact setup in a 68 camaro. It's a fun, dependable, cruiser for him and will surprise some folks if they think its just a tree fitty

They say a poor craftsman blames his tools.
Anybody ever measured to see if their clutch needs a shim?
My Harbor Freight dial caliper may not be up for the job. Or it could be operator error.
I'm not precise of a guy.
I watched the Spec video and his straight edge didn't look all that secure.
The idea is that you measure from the bearing to the torque tube, then from the bell housing to the clutch fingers. Subtract the two to get the gap.
I've done this 3 times and got 3 different measurements.

What measurements are you getting? I used a regular tape measure and I measured to the outside edge of the bellhousing.

Drove the Camaro to work today. Nothing exploded, caught fire, or spilled its guts anywhere. Maybe I'm finally done wrenching on it?

That's awesome news Johnny.

I'm not sure about using a tape measure on something that's measured in hundredths and thousandths of an inch.

I've got a dentist appointment this afternoon, but after that I'm gonna go buy a damned digital caliper and see if I can figure this **** out.
I need to know ASAP so that I can go ahead and order the shim that I need, if I need one.

I'm really not sure about shimming, Hilton. I've never done it and my McLeod didn't require it.

On another note, does anyone have a GM 2 bar sensor laying around that I can use this saturday?

I have a chinaman digital caliper. It's crap for accuracy. I know a few machinists, they all have manual ones.

I have an extra 2 bar. I also have excellent manual dial calipers. Make sure ur taking all the slack out of the calipers when u measure by squeezing gently and wiggling them. I use them everyday and we measure stuff to the nearest .001

Is it like the one I sold you?
If so, I'd love to borrow it or perhaps purchase it.
