thats true most of them are pretty dumb.....i bought my melling pump from advance. i say i need an oil pump, it comes up and its about $108. the guy looks amazed at how expemsive it is. i said no thats cheap, they usually go for 125+. so he says your gonna need an oil pan gasket, i say no the pump is crank driven off the front of the motor. he looks confused and besides that the gaskets are (supposed to be) reuseable anyway and i walk out. and he was still still standing there with a blank *** look on his face.

Anddddd there's no feeling worse than when the acceleration drops out during a good open stretch of road.
Besides, I wanna get the most out of that engine as I can.

You cant swap gauges, you could used to send your 115mph gauge to Granatelli and they would recalibrate it, and throw their 200mph overlay on it, but I dont know if they still do that. The limiter can be changed with a tuning program like TunerCat.

Since my Z/28 didn't come with Z rated tires it came with a 115, I'm ordering a 94' gauge panel that is pulled from a scrapyard Z/28.
I'm pretty sure that they can be swapped out.

Ain't nutting to it, but to do it. That's how you learn. I honestly don't have any idea with the early LT cars. Doin that would be good starting point I guess. If it doesn't work you still have your old one til you find a solution.
