Yeah, guess I should have specified that at first, it does sound pretty rediculous to try and swap only the speedo gauge. ahah

Hey LT1, don't let these LS guys hate on you. My LTX runs pretty good!

To answer your question, everything should work, when you swap out the gauge cluster. But, as has been mentioned, you will need to get a tune with TunerCat or LT1 Edit, and get the speed limiter changed.

Should be no biggy.

I am getting ready to swap the wheel studs on my 9" for some arp ones. Do i need any special size to run these 15 wheels? They need to be longer right? Same thread and diameter i am guessing is ok

Lightbulb

My other car used to be a Camaro SS. I sold it to one of my race buddies in Shreveport. Anyway, I ran the longer 12MM stock size ARP studs on it. I used 15x9.5 Bogarts, with shanks, instead of lugnuts.

The studs had to be notched, on the backside, to fit properly.

Of course, with most fifteen inch wheels, you will have to grind the calipers.

The Bogarts didn't require grinding.

that's what I as thinking. just longer. and of course the shanks as well. I got some convo pros that already fit with no grinding. so I just need some longer studs

Now, I see you've got an aftermarket rearend, if you're using aftermarket axles as well, you may not have to grind on the wheel stud heads, like I had to, on the stock axles. HTH

AT&T is hiring right now. Don't know how you'd feel about a call center, but that's where i'm about to start working for a little while. Pay starts at a little under 500 a week, and that's fine for me right now.

on a side note. I got my frankenstein of a car running. Putting in the transmission this Sunday.

Fyi we stuck a 5.3 in my 98 Trans Am while I build up a new LS1. Thinking about sticking some turbos on it 'till it blows Should have the LS1 built by the end of March.

Chris, since you have to buy lug nuts anyway, I'd go with 1/2" rather than 12mm. I seem to remember them being much cheaper.

Yea it's almost all the way back together. We just have to wait on the push rods to get here then I can try out my tuning skills on it. Might have to go back to GMTU (Greg McBride Tuning University) for some help on this one.

I wouldn't think it would be much different. Just more of what you already know and probably alot more time then it took on mine. If you feel like it we can finish up on mine tomorrow since all we HOPEFULLY have left is the WOT tuning.

Why do you say that? Not that we wouldn't be happy to have another F-body in the group.

Seems like alot more organization going on up there.. I have to drive 35 miles to Hammond, LA just to find another F-body willing to "have fun"..
Just a lack of action around here that dosent involve accords, and civics, and neons,....Not saying theres anything wrong with that!!! just sayin..

I know what you mean. There's definately alot more going on up here. What's funny is a few of us started modding heavy towards the end of last year just to hear our local track shutdown. Now we're waiting to see if it's going to get bought and re-opened.

I know! I heard, sorry to hear it... I hope something is resolved soon. But in the meantime I'll be happy to host anyone that feels like making the "long haul" to the BR area to race.... Lets just hope things get back to the norm in Shreveport.
