Default Wideband Accurate

I have a 402 car with a nitro daves plate sraying a 200 shot right now. When i run on motor my wideband shows 11.5 pretty much through the hole run. When i spray it goes to 10.00 and that as far as my gauge goes down. I pulled my 200 shot fuel jet and put in the 175 and its still rich. So i guess my question is if the wideband shows rich is it ? Can u detonate or run lean while the wideband is pegged rich ?

had to many issues. One time it might say rich but the plugs show lean. Next time the plugs are very rich and the wide band says it was perfect

And have you checked it versus another wideband?

The 11.5 NA A/F is a concern.

Yup, as soon as the sensors are on their way out, they tend to start reading pig rich.

My wideband is dead on. The 11.5 is to rich still ? What is optimal A/F on spray ?

You said A/F was 11.5 on motor....I prefer to see something in the 13.0 range, then the base jetting will drop you to the high 11's on nitrous.

If you are at 11.5 on motor it will be WAY rich once you add the extra fuel from the nitrous kit.

You might need to start comparing wideband data to the plugs. Here is a good link on how to read plugs.

just saw I didn't answer this question.

Yes you can have problems being rich.

You can still detonate, due to to much timing or the wrong spark plugs. You can also lift ring lands, and melt pistons.

Ok thats exactly what i wanted to know. Looks like I have some tuning to do then. I have tr7 plugs and everything is forged. So i guess i will pull plugs and check that way and make sure everything is running correctly. Thanks guys
