Question Spraying with D585 truck coils

I actually have these coils laying around and want to put them on my car. Well, since you have to switch to colder plugs while spraying, will anything negative happen if I spray with these coils?

I do not know, but I doubt it. I'd say the coils will make it feel smoother when the spray hits. The coils seem to "smooth out" lots of characteristics on these engines.

You might want to get your tuner to look at it. That's my best suggestion.

Well I don't have any money for somebody to look at it right now. What could they look at that would give an answer? I REALLY want to put these on, but do NOT want to spray just to hope its ok. lol

They are stronger coils, I don't see how it hurt the motor when spraying?? It help it if anything.. Better spark more complete burn!

Yeah but wouldn't that go the same for a hotter plug? And we all know a hotter plug definately isn't better when spraying.

Spark energy and plug heat range are not the same. I would put the truck coils on. It's no different than sbc guys running 6al ignition boxes w/ blaster coils to get maximum spark. The heat range is determined solely by the plug itself, not spark output.

I agree. I would think that it would make more of a complete burn in the combustion chamber and make life a little easier getting everything adjusted spot on so there is no guessing if everything is within its perimeter of functionality.

I put them on and ran within 1/4 of a length with a 402 GTO from 45 to 135.....so Id say they worked out nicely. Car feels very strong unfortunetly we also had a change in weather the same night to much cooler weather....so I really dont know. I got them for $20 so it was worth the try.

OK I just finished the coil swap. The car starts a little quicker. I mean it already fires right up in probably half a second but it seems just a little faster. Overall, I can tell a SLIGHT difference, but definately nothing major. I say its worth it! Especially if you can get everything you need for $30 from a junk yard like I did!
