Default fastest way to pull the plugs

what is the fastest way to pull the plugs on our cars, can you pull all of them from the top? coil packs are relocated to the cowl.

and what tools do you use, I'm going to have to start getting good/fast at this when I start to spray

I'm sure there are more than a few "secrets"

definitely keeping the A/C gets a tad warm here in the summer. hell all year round.

a search brought up these 2 tools....

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....re&dir=catalog

http://www.stanleyproto.com/default....e+Head+Ratchet

both look like they could work well.

anyone have any comments?

even better your coil packs are relocated.a short stubby ratchet for the #7 and #8 from the top and small hands.

If your coils are relocated I don't see a plug change taking too much time at all

1in & 3in extentions, regular ol spark plug socket, and a 3/8s rachet is all you need, and yes since your coils are already moved, it wont be a problem. i can do mine in about 20 minutes

Same here, you just need your average tools, no specialty tools needed. If you cut the windshield wiper cowl and remove the ac and heater box you can do it even faster. I can swap all of my plugs out in 10 minutes give or take a minute.

I use a swivel spark plug socket get 7 from the top and the #7 from the bottom, all in about 15 minutes or so, not including gapping and putting never sieze on the threads.

And jacking up the car and putting a jack stand underneath it?? You gotta be running around like a Nascar pit crew on a pit stop.

if your coil packs are off the passanger side, climb up in the engine bay, reach back there with two hands and give that #7 a good ol once over. No need to jack up the car

After 3 hours and some cut up hands and forearms, I was done. I should be quicker next time.

+2. takes me about 45 min working at a normal pace start to finish (remove, gap, antiseize, install). however, my coils are in the stock location

2 1 inch extensions, a swivel ratchet and no ac or hvac makes it pretty easy. I can do plugs in a hot car after a pass in like 10-15. most use a 1 inch extension but a couple plugs you need to hook them together for a total 2 inch extension.

good luck

thanks, yeah doing it on the return road quick is my goal...may just pull a few from each bank replace w/ older plugs and drive it back. I don't have a tow/pit vehicle.
