lol you guys seriously think a mid size cam, full weight, stock rear/gear, bolt ons, and STOCK ls6 heads with 150 is a 9.90 car?!? my car had stock wheels all around with bfg rears on my run too, completely stock inside and out, i'll gurantee your guys' 10 sec cam only cars are stripped out big and little'd DRAG CARS....lets compare apples to apples please...and for the record, just because my car isnt the fastest **** around (i dont want it to be because i still race on the street 10's is plenty) doesnt mean i dont have experience with fast cars, i have a friend with a 402 ls2 with stock l92 heads running 9.50's another H/C ls1 with 150 running 10.00's and a guy who just got his TSP lsx 427 300 shot dp fast 90/90 8.80 car..

lets break this down. the 1.5 car weighed 3600+ full leather full weight. less than 4K in the whole car with wheels.
no your car probably should not run 9.9 but at least 10.3 with ls6 heads vs stock heads. Your friends cars seem fast. sorry yours is a turd. we also have a stock bottom end stock ported h/c car runs 9.8 LOL.
The point was you probably shouldn't argue cams with only worked on 3 cars(including your "friends") . posting the ms3 was fine but arguing why the ms3 will work on a stock intake ,stock rear, low bolton 150 shot car is just dumb. the guy needs a 5400-6200 rpm band thats long and flat. thats not the ms3.

Yup the MS3 is for the Newbies that want the biggest cam they can put under the heads.
As for me, I would say if the max you are going to be spraying is around a 150 and you want nice drive ability. A nice 232/238 .60x/.60x on a 112 would work perfectly.
A big cam is not needed to go fast, have a look at Chris1313. His cam is a 230/230 and he's running in the 10's cam only.
My cam works great on the spray 230/236 112, no problems here. I may have slight surging, but that's mostly bc I have such tall gears with my T56.

This **** is starting to get funny. Before it was annoying, now its entertaining lol. And I've decided im "NOT" going to run the MS3. Its put down good numbers and not docking it none but just isn't the powerband I want. I want a custom grind but not exactly sure what yet. Probably something around 230/234 or similar.

it would be different if they didnt think they were gods gift to tech and took what i said as a decent response to this thread, but they decided to do nothing but bash and talk down instead of productively helping the OP like the thread was meant to be....thats great that they are the big nitrous dogs, but they act like a high school kid with a 5-spd honda..

Its only entertaining cause its a battle over the internet lol. Nothing will be proven in a e-fight. I appreciate everyones responses to this. Yall have helped out alot. And to think I spent money on modding my grand prix HAHA. Its getting demodded and sold as stock. I've wanted an LSX car for a long time. Just nervous of how a front facing car seat would fit in back lol.

IM a regular on clubgp. I had an almost complete top swap collected and was a click away from getting an XPZ cam when I talked myself into selling it all and getting an f-body. So far have sold: ported heads, SD hood, and my SLP spoiler. Still gotta sell the blower, LIM, and wheels. I started doing body work the other night. Im super stoked about getting a rwd V8. Got rid of my lil hot rod truck cause I had a baby. But he's older now and its time to upgrade

yeah you wont look back, its a good upgrade...mine ran mid 13's (basic 3.4 setup) but my close friend at the time had a stg3 intercooled 2.8 car that he blew up and recently built a l36 forged bottom end with xpz zzp stage 3 heads, stg3 intercooler, and a zex wet 150 hit on a 2.55 pulley..unfortunately his attention went elsewhere and he never got it tuned before he got so many tickets he cant afford insurance on it now...
heres my old GTP

Mine is a 98 gt coupe. Its got intrax springs, kyb struts, front and rear adjustable STBs, u-bend cat and res delete, and its going stock now lol. Fun car but being limited to fail wheel drive and a v6 sucks. I would upload a pic but the file is to large.

BTW my 10.0 cam only/nitrous car isnt stripped out at all 3400 lbs and should go pretty deep into the 9's this weekend. Put a set up together correct and it should fly. Your terd should be going bottom 11's on motor alone. but just my opinion.

everyone thats knocking about the MS3 power band either Dont have the cam and are going by what people say or have never ridden in/driven/owned a MS3 car with the RIGHT gearing.
I will admit right now, with the stock 3.42's, The power band was high. It pulled like a bat out of hell between 4-6800rpms. This didnt bother me, because when your racing you should never be below 3800rpms to begin with!
Then I added 4.10's to my setup and Holy **** did it really wake up the power band. The power is alot smoother, and It pulls the same from 3500rpms-6800rpms....all the way through the power band and the car can launch like a mother. It blows the tires off from a 50 roll to the point it gets squirly and I need to lift.
It all comes down to what setup your planning with...and by setup I mean what gears and what not.
