Default How to clean nitrous filter??

This may be obvious but what is the proper method to cleaning the nitrous filter? I have one where you unscrew the housing and there is a copper looking stone inside. I see some black specs in it but I really don't anything to compare it or a reference to how it should be cleaned.

Anyone able to give me some quick insight?

i would kinda think that nothing you could clean it with would be "pure" enough to not just contaminate the filer even more... but then again, i might be completely wrong. haha

All you need to do to clean it is run hot water over it ( Basically give it a good rinse ) and then hit it with air to dry it off. There is no other way to really clean the stone element.

If there is a good amount of material on it you can use brake or carb cleaner aswell to clean the element.

Not really.....or at least I've never seen nor ever hurd of contaminants in water clogging the filter or even hindering the flow in any bit.

Thanks for the quick answer. I'll give it a good rinse and blow it dry with the air gun. How often do you check/clean yours? Could it cause an initial rich condition upon activation if its not clean?

Is this in your LT1? If so, that rich condition at the hit could be in the tune. The LT1 pcm is set up to add alot of fuel at the entry of WOT. My car has the same problem and I am working on tuning it out.

Yea this is the LT1. I made a couple changes to my system so I will see if it makes it any better. Thanks for the info though.

I spray the element off with carb or brake cleaner.
